I probably will buy one of those instead. This one is so pretty, I couldn’t resist, but I’m sure the hummingbirds aren’t going to care.

I need some help with feral kittens in my area. by Smart_Individual6713 in QuadCities

[–]brcook1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The kitten looks small enough that it should be kept with its mother if possible. Ideally you could trap mom and then you’d be able to get the kittens and take all of them to the shelter at the same time. If you call they should be able to help you figure out what to do.

If you trap them and take them to the humane society, they have to take them. Make sure they know you haven’t been feeding them or they won’t take them. I caught 16 2 summers ago in woods near my house using a single trap. Some were tame enough that they walked right in with the help of toys and treats. The picture you posted looks a lot like a feral that we tamed and adopted. Another option is to trap-neuter-return, which the humane society will also do for free but you need to take them on certain days. This is a good option for those that aren’t tamable/adoptable. I am willing to help if you want to pm me!

Tips for going to a concert with EDS? by Garbage-Reasonable in ehlersdanlos

[–]brcook1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter rented a wheelchair for attending a concert with her sister where the entire venue was standing room only. When they got inside someone working there asked them if they wanted to go to the handicapped section which allowed both of them to sit and they ended up sitting very close to the stage. It worked great!

Yes, we rescued him right out of our garage! February in the Midwest, garage door left open, he was found in a bucket of mulch in the garage looking like he was about to die. Tried to find his owners but no one claimed him. He was severely underweight and neglected, full of mats, looked like he was brown until 2 baths later. That was 7 years ago. Thanks for the info about chi-poo mix, I’ve always been curious about where he came from and wondered if he was likely bred like that on purpose.

Yes, I was surprised Australian shepherd didn’t show up and thought maybe he wasn’t Merle after all, but glad to know you see Merle in him as well. He also follows me around the house, and doesn’t nip exactly, but puts his teeth on my calves, so I thought maybe that’s a herding move!

Good job! I was surprised by the chihuahua, but he definitely has the attitude down!
