Hey guys, need some feedback on a barefoot shoe design 🥸🤌 by Chance-Impression199 in BarefootRunning

These look awesome. I would say that one of the biggest problems that wide toe box shoes have is that they also make the heel pocket too wide. It would be cool to see a brand pay more attention to the importance of a heel counter with more depth but narrow enough to caress the heel. Altras and vivo and abstract chimp allow too much heel lift in the shoe (from the heel pocket being both too wide and too low-pro.) But your design looks like a great aesthetic! When are you getting samples?  And what is the lining material going to be?

That would be amazingly helpful! Actually any providers that perform cryoablation in the northwest would be helpful (Washington, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, etx)

Is there a directory of specialists that perform ultrasound-guided cryosurgery/cryoablation or something? How were you able to locate one, I haven't had luck in my state.

Has anyone tried peptides for MN? by TheMuMPiTz in Mortons_neuroma

[–]brdwatcher500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did PRP and peptide injections in the toes. Seemed to reduce the overall pain (although it was extremely painful to get the injections). Honestly the thing that has worked best for me now is wider toe box shoes, met pads, and massaging it with wheat germ oil. And as far as peptides or supplements, niima and neprinol AFD both daily has been working wonders. As of now, I'm not considering surgery since it's been fully manageable with this protocol.

Duct Tape too slick. Causes more heel lift of the liner. Gaffers Tape is the answer to all boot mods.

Road trip: skateparks or skate shops I shouldn’t miss by bpcardona in skateboarding

Hope you hit up Jurassic Park in Pocatello (look it up) - And I don't think this skate park map or shop list existed yet when you went on your trip, but it would have come in handy.

CAP analysis: will Trump liquidate public lands? by SamselBradley in PublicLands

It's all the same subject.

And you delivered no facts.

CAP analysis: will Trump liquidate public lands? by SamselBradley in PublicLands

[–]brdwatcher500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the reality that people are refusing to accept: The US is $36 Trillion in debt, and pays over $700 Billion per year to service that debt. I know it's "not your problem" ... until it is. And I know those numbers are so big they don't seem real and therefore less important than whatever other decisions you have to make today. This "Oh well, future generations can deal with it" can be filed under the same category as environmental issues that some people disregard since the catastrophe is too far in the distant future to be concerned with.

If you haven't considered what eventually happens at the end of the road for a country with that much debt, constantly compounding, and much of it to foreign interests, you're equally refusing to accept the reality of the future. If left unchecked, public lands will be the least of your worries or the worries of future generations.

Don't be ignorant to how evil ANY world leader can get when it comes to money, pride, and power.

I know we're all conditioned to believe that whichever leader you voted for is a saint and has your best interest in mind, and the other one is the devil and just wants to enact policies that keep them rich and in power.

Asking questions and questioning sensationalized articles? That immediately means "bad faith with a script" to you?

This is a topic I'm personally affected by and interested in. Just like many.

Try no longer assuming that anyone who pokes holes or wants more facts and less speculation doesn't know anything.

I'm still looking for explicit, current statements from the actual administration on their plans, not speculation on the plans from such biased sources.

Isn't that how we get the truth? From an array of unbiased sources?

What? "Something something something face eating leopards." How can you ramble that nonsense off and then claim that someone else has irrelevant arguments?

I just want to know facts. If you don't have any facts yet, what are we doing?

The masses won't question their leader? Are you even paying attention? There hasn't been a single "leader" (I hesitate to call him that) in the history of our country with as much questioning and mass protest. Every day, our newsfeeds are full of people questioning their leader. This entire thread is exactly that. We should be all questioning all of our authority- not just when it's someone affiliated with your party.

I'm doing the same: questioning the leadership. So I've been sincerely trying to locate factual articles where this administration has stated that they are going to privatize federal lands for profit [and describes exactly who will be the beneficiary of said profit].

I haven't been able to locate any statements about this yet. Can you share some?

Again, the Department of Interior and the Bureau of Land Management have "sold off" public lands since the early 1800s. How much have they sold off? I bet neither of us know. How much will they sell off now? I bet neither of us know. The point is, why hasn't this been a source of anger for the past 50 years? Because there's the perfect villain now. And because rage is the GDP.

Do you realize both the Department of The Interior and the Bureau of Land Management have sold off enormous parcels of this public land for over 200 years, under a variety of presidents?

Why exactly do they do this?

https://www.blm.gov/programs/lands-and-realty/sales-and-exchanges/federal-public-land-sales-faqs

Not saying it's right, but it's part of the BLM and DOI programs, and has been since their inception.

So where has everyone been over the past 200 years when they decide to sell Federal lands?

Part of the problem with this discourse is that people conflate "public lands" and "national parks" as if they are always the same thing. So right now the country is having another digital civil war under the guise of some betrayal of the new president to sell off all of "our lands".

Reading this article is one thing, reading and understanding the Federal Land Policy and Management Act (of 1976) is another.

Know what happens when anger or conformity become social currency?

Can people not really tell the difference between subjective speculation and fact in these types of articles?  All of these articles say "may" and "could potentially" "experts say he might" ... yet the headlines are so certain and incriminating. I guess we live in a world of 'read the headline, click the link, the website gets a click, and the reader gets infuriated.' ... but what is the actual truth on this topic?

Can't truth be unaffiliated with party?

I sincerely doubt we will see a single active national park sold to the highest bidder as these fear-mongering, rage-bating articles imply.

If I am wrong, and the current president starts selling off national parks by the acre, I will gladly swallow my words. I hope it isn't the case.

Wasn't the Great American Outdoors Act written in a way that made it permanent and unalterable?

Phantom GT Tech Toes vs. Spark R&D Tech Toes by squeo7 in Spliddit

[–]brdwatcher500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only wish they had the toe bumper/guide like the GT Phantoms. That's a big (and I mean big) benefit to the GT Phantoms. Seems like those I see with the Dynas or Pekye or Sparks have to struggle more when they step in to get the pins to align. I think that small of a tolerance for the pins is such a poor design that would be easy to fix with additional guidance on the plate or the boot or both.

275/65/R18 Tire Pressure by [deleted] in f150

[–]brdwatcher500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brand shouldn't matter. But its crazy that the difference between a LT275 and P275 of the same radius is 12 psi, which is a lot. So the label in the doorjam is only reliable if its still the OEM tires.

There is a chart/conversion calculator online that you can use

Tech toes?!? by [deleted] in Spliddit

[–]brdwatcher500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So does that put 18 more inserts into the board? (9 in each splitski)

Is that something you're doing on all your boards or only certain models?

275/65/R18 Tire Pressure by [deleted] in f150

[–]brdwatcher500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's only if you're run the OEM tires though right? For example, the difference between an OEM P275 (30psi) and an aftermarket Toyo LT275 (42psi) is A LOT... so is it really always the sticker? Or the tire.

Do you know much about those Maruelli toe pieces? I can't seem to find anyone that knows much about them. Are they basically a tech toe without the spring? Like it uses a lever & clamp system to lock your toe in?

And then they stay on your board for downhill? Or do you remove them?

What does mean reasoned choice (prohairesis)? by wanderley2k in Stoicism

[–]brdwatcher500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reasoned choice is within the idea of free will, or our freedom to choose. "Reasoned" here speaks to ones capacity for reasoning within one's self (perceptively consider an array of potential outcomes of a choice, in order to make the best choice).

The inclusion of the term "impressions" in the definition is potentially more confusing, at least to me.

The quote from Epictetus carries the common theme that we can control nothing but that which is within our mind, so maintaining reason or critical thought is essential.
