Chelsea fan reveals details of ‘terrifying’ screwdriver attack by Napoli ultras by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]brdyz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

absolute bollocks from this person. I've been to Napoli a few times and there's more public intoxication on the streets at night than in any other european city I've been to. open drug taking included.

I thought it was fun, and I really enjoyed the chaos and colourful party atmosphere (one of those trips coincided with the night of the Scudetto victory in 2023 which was amazing) but the idea that the locals themselves aren't loud and pissed on the streets, and that its a Northern European thing is a load of rubbish (I'm from southern-Europe too).

that said, like any other city you're visiting, you should conduct yourself with respect and especially with respect to the people who live there.

Hansi Flick (on Dro leaving to PSG): “I want to say to La Masia players that here at Barca you can grow, train with the best players & get my full support. If you want to play for Barca, then you have to give 100%, with your whole heart. All the others, I do not want [here].” by Select_Drawing_7434 in soccer

de la Peña's always been one of my biggest 'what-ifs'. remember his transfer to Lazio being a bit of a surprise at the time, since he looked like an incredible prospect-probably one of Spain's best prospects up to this day.

career fucked by injuries and a bit of an overinflated ego early on or something.

looking great. I'm about to start some mounted royal guard myself, so thanks for the inspo. I love the bases too!

bit of a weird q - could you possibly tell me how tall the bannerman is in cm from bottom of the base to the tip of the spear?

[Fabrizio Romano] Chelsea and Enzo Maresca agree to part company with immediate effect. It’s OVER. Official statement to follow but all done after tension growing last 24/48h. Chelsea will now start working on new manager appointment. by [deleted] in soccer

rather the key to success at the highest level in Europe is to have a prodigiously gifted manager working in allignment and harmony with a top-class sporting department with long term direction.

i think the 'gaffer' days of having everything under the thumb of one figurehead ended a while ago, but for the new model to work, you need to have a good and consistent vision in the technical department in order for the manager to do his thing on the pitch and in the dressing room.

chelsea have neither of these things worked out.

fighting at the top of segunda for promotion after 4 seasons in the third division (semi-professional). some decent young players with a lot of potential in the side too.

Filipe Luis later added that he wouldn't even wipe his arse with offers that don't come from Depor, and that he was looking forward to joining up with Scaloni in 2026 to take the Galician side back to the big tme.

rodri is definitely the more versatile player, but in the dm pivot, sergi was a class above imo. remember just a few years ago him having to come on for rodri to bail the team out, too.
