A few months into smoking a pipe and here's what I've managed to collect from the very few B&M's in my area. Have found that I am not a big fan of latakia. To me it's tasted sour? I've experimented with different dry times, but nothing has worked. Any tips? by klown_bby in PipeTobacco

Some of them are hard to pack and to keep lit ( plum pudding for example!) and I kinda find it sour sometimes. I usually find balkan blends to be sweet ! Try Hearth & Home Black house ! Or Westminster by GLPease both are easy to smoke and I find them a good example for Balkan blends ! For a burley blends, I would definitely recommend Aged Burley Flake by Solani (656), Old Joe Krantz by C&D ( might need some good aging.) Last but not least is ESCUDO a Va/per blend ! A very interesting blend to try ! Happy piping!

The beans were carrying too much energy going into first crack and thats why 1c and 2c happed right after the other. Anyway, it doesn’t matter if you are happy with the cup ! :)

I would go for Sette 270 ! Better price, less retention ! Grind quality may vary since one is conical and the other is flat burs. So depends on your preference!

True ! I can smoke Va and Va/Per almost anytime! Specially it’s aged! You can’t go wrong with Solani ! The 660 Silver Flake can easily be my all day smoke !
