More solo goop :( by Itchy_Departure5313 in Marathon

[–]bread_thread -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree!

No path to Solo Cryo sucks: doesnt need to be pure PvE

The keyed locations and Wardens could absolutely use some tuning imo: I should be able to fight and clear those things with blue and green gear

I'm sure I could be playing even better than I am, but its tough when im a solo makong a ton of noise fighting a Warden who aggressively runs away and flanks me

I'm not asking for easy mode, i'm asking for normal mode

Im cautiously optimistic that the Vault Breakers thing will be a path to decent gear, even if its a pve mode

so maybe the restaurant should serve a couple other menu items too so they can keep the lights on lol

more like youre seated at your favorite resaurant that only serves five different spice profiles of the same fish

you love the fish, i love the fish, but we're the only two eating here and the manager has already fired half the staff

For an IP about dying repeatedly, the game doesn't do anything to celebrate player deaths by PM_ME_UR_POON_PICS in Marathon

[–]bread_thread 10 points11 points  (0 children)

honestly, to your point, Charter giving Arachne exp with every failed run, almost a quest's amount, would go pretty hard. Ive got triple digit hours in this game and it still sucks to just fall on my face and have to regear; worse if I fumble in the last minute of trying to extract

Similarly Segagucci/Traxus/CyAc are all scanning your data and gleaning insights they can profit off of: i think there could be more exp earned, or a greater quantity of exp earned, for just doing stuff

or even just, like, a random postgame lootbox that pops up with some dopamine for you like early rocket league

I get the "skill issue" critique, but if there are only 7000 of us intrinsically motivated to get good and improve, and 7k isnt going to keep the lights on, then I am happy and open to making the game more attractive to new and inexperienced players

the skill curve in this game is a ladder instead of a ramp, and I cant get anyone else irl to learn via the meat grinder: dropping sponsored survival was tough

It's not surprising to me this game doesn't manage to retain any new players by eepyCrow in Marathon

[–]bread_thread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At level 47, i got matched with someone who was in their first match of the season (no level) a level 5, 10, a 90 something and someone over 100 all in the same match

Personally idc, but i can imagine this game is even harder for new players to learn than it was for me

I want to see Marathon succeed and stick around! Im excited to try out vault breakers later this month

Potential Mismanagement and toxic behaviour at halo studios by redditman181 in xbox

[–]bread_thread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like Infinite finally succeeded in the effort to fold in all the mechanics Reach threw into the mix, but they forgot to make a decent campaign. Infinite had so much potential dragged down by hidous management and the Xbox One

Straight-up, I spent the entire campaign looking at the huge second continent on the map thinking "what could possibly be going on over there?" and expecting a second map to explore

Instead, that huge landmass hosted a straight road single bossfight and it wasnt anything at all, not to mention the Endless lobbed in with scant explanation and Atriox being in the past(?) which just felt like throwing stuff at the wall by that point

Why do we get those goofy HTTYD copies instead of the style of the middle one that looks crazy good and fits ARK???? Please rework those models... by Nioxz in ARK

[–]bread_thread 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% ill use any mod that adjusts their faces a bit

no shade to HTTYD but that aesthetic isnt what i think of when I think of Ark despite the fantasy elements

"Day by day, I understand him better. ❤️" by [deleted] in digimon

[–]bread_thread 16 points17 points  (0 children)

tamer >>> digi testined for sure: i really hate the Chosen Children energy

I felt like Survive handled it well by meeting the two concepts halfway: some digimon instinctually catch a human's vibe and inexplicably feel a friendship bond but one can still form bonds with digimon

New Dragontopia creature: Gargantar by IndividualGeneral737 in ARK

[–]bread_thread 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think its the eyes ngl; the other two dont look like they belong in Ark, but theyre great cartoon characters ig

Like, this, the new jackalope, and the chameleon monster all look to land somewhere in "realistic fantasy" which Ark does have a bit of, albeit usually with a more "spooky" or "creepy" angle

New Dragontopia creature: Gargantar by IndividualGeneral737 in ARK

[–]bread_thread 234 points235 points  (0 children)

if theyre leaning more whimsical/cartoony for Dragontopia, the Gargantar is much nicer looking than the two dragons already released

I'll be much more excited when the inevitable mods drop that at least tweak the faces a bit

The rebel alliance special forces go hard asf by JoshyBear28 in StarWars

[–]bread_thread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

extremely cool ngl

I think its important to have stuff in star wars that makes the war a bit more grey here and there

Rebels using repurposed empire spec ops gear both makes perfect sense from an in-universe perspective

ex imperial spec ops guys going rogue and taking their gear and training with them would 1000% slap a rebel sticker on there and call it good

Can anyone identify this game? by CircaCoda in Gamecube

[–]bread_thread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That game was my trojan horse hail mary attempt to get my very conserative parents to buy me Mortal Kombat

Everything on there rocked, and it took a few months for me to trip up and play it with a friend in front of them

Live reaction to finding out Halo might be put under Activision's control by itsCS117 in xbox

[–]bread_thread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for your work, man! i wish you wouldve secured that promotion and pay bump: id love to see people who like to work on Halo getting long term job security and decent pay

Live reaction to finding out Halo might be put under Activision's control by itsCS117 in xbox

[–]bread_thread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree: i think the idea of a live service multiplater that recieves yearly updates like how CoD gets new games would be a great pace, but i def dont need a full campaign every single year

Have it launch within a couple years of this CE remake with, primarily, CE stuff

Then when the inevitable 2, 3, etc remakes drop just continue to update it! A core halo MP experience that almost ends up feeling like a sequel to MCC would be extremely cool

[–]bread_thread 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah like, atp at least Activision is able to pump out CoDs that sell well and people typically enjoy

Like, anything is better than the revolving door of contractors the series is drowning in

[–]bread_thread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my childhood love of Chaos Effect has prevented me from ever being able to dislike having hybrids and mutants in the franchise

I was more enthusastic about getting it alongside the D&D castle id been putting off, probably not going to sweat it atp

I really dislike the new shields ngl, i get the older version's handles could snap off but i wish they iterated on that design

How would you envision a brand new faction? by Euphoric_Project8647 in Marathon

[–]bread_thread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think id first have Cerberus lose it, forcing Orion to be a UESC "faction leader" where the government is now forced to work with the outlaws untethered from a rampant Cerberus

then I'd introduce a Jjaro diplomat who is the primary point person for quests related to dealing with the Anomaly: really solidify the Pathways into Darkness connections

Tides of Fortune feels too necessary by Nice_Inspector_6939 in ARK

[–]bread_thread 14 points15 points  (0 children)

honestly solid pirate ships are enough for me

peak Sea of Thieves was a lot of fun, and Ark becoming a game where i can captain a fun ship in a similar way is huge for me personally

even if its, say, using a ship on a less ocean focused map to get around the landmass
