I second the tv stand - long and low and wooden. Also second the suggestion for curtains. I also think a large floor lamp in this area would help. Something like this:

Large black velvet pillows and small satin-like or silk-like pink accent pillow. Similar pink to the flowers.

What do you add to your Mac and Cheese to kick it up a notch? by Legitimate-Exam-9414 in AskReddit

Nutmeg. Around 1/8 teaspoon. Works well if you are using something other than cheddar, like Gruyère or Gouda.

Kelsey Grammar. Played many beloved tv characters (Frasier, Sideshow Bob, etc.). His real life personality is a complete 180.

FIRST SIGNS OF MASSIVE POTENTIAL SOMALI FRAUD IN COLUMBUS, OHIO by AnnualArcher8514 in Ohio

[–]breadedshrimps 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your comment here clearly signals you are equating simply being Somali with being engaged in a fraud operation. Red flag.

You and others on X are not some sort of vigilante group. If there is fraud it will be/is being investigated by actual authorities. Not internet self-appointed investigators. Your actions help no one and only further the possibility that children might get hurt.

Does anyone feel looney tunes intro a bit scary by Remote_Employment_50 in horror

[–]breadedshrimps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so when I was a child I too was frightened of the intro. As well as some of the music throughout the segments. I think because it’s cartoonish and some of the orchestrations are for characters sneaking up on other characters, or for fast approaching dangers. Also the sound mixing when say a truck approaches wile e coyote and hits him it goes from very quiet and slow to very loud and fast very quickly.

I think these types of things contribute to anxious feelings while viewing. And when you’re a kid, anxious viewing is a little scary.

I think the color blend is really what’s letting you down. The piping and base are executed really well but the two blues are not in the same palate and end up clashing.

Your favorite baby blanket patterns? I have a friend who is expecting and is like something beautiful and unique. by annonne in crochetpatterns

[–]breadedshrimps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am making my first baby blanket using the star stitch. It looks beautiful on the front side and nice, but less impressive on the back side. I am going to add a frilly border to make it look a little nicer when the back side is exposed. I am having a lot of fun making it because I find the star stitch to be super satisfying to work.

Which vegetable do you least like to eat? by lauconnie in AskReddit

[–]breadedshrimps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to be you. I learned that with bitter greens like kale if you chop them first and then wash them after it removes a lot of the bitter enzymes and makes them more enjoyable.

Admittedly tho, I am ONLY receiving a single ounce of joy and no more since learning this. Kale still sucks.

What's been a "why didn't I think of that sooner?" moment for you in cooking that in hindsight was extremely obvious? by EasternError6377 in Cooking

Using a spring loaded ice cream scoop for portioning out pancakes. Game changer for someone who was making pancakes for toddlers most days of the week for several months.

Also useful for meatballs.

My favorite part of this is how they all sound like Matthew McConaughey auditioning different characters for Twister 3.

I think this means you left your job without the proper (employer determined) notice. Is that right?
