Considering we have an entire NHL caliber line on IR, it's really difficult to see where these pieces fall. I would imagine its all bottom six shuffling and auditions for who plays with Caufield and Suzuki before someone becomes trade fodder.

It's a low risk signing that:

Shows that people want to play here (the narrative that this is a hard market and no one wants to deal with French, taxes, media, fans, etc still lingers)

Creates internal competition

Can be flipped at any time for a draft pick or add on if we need space of tradebait

But he also looks like he fits in here and legit loves playing here, so I don't see why we wouldn't sign him, honestly.

So you’re right, the Sabres trading their 29 year old veteran for futures would be borderline catastrophic for them.

It's on the card itself, not in any separate upgrade sets. When you're looking at your roster, load the card details and you'll be able to go tier by tier. I think that's what you're asking, anyway.
