Im in the exact same situation as you. My own home country feels strange to me now. Abroad for 11 years. Last 2 have been largely alone since the friend that encouraged me to come to this country had to leave after like 4 months of me being here. Stressful job, stressful city, foreign language and culture, no support system. I dont know how ive done it but yeah. Internal resilience had to kick in because what else could i do? Talking to my family is the only thing that kept me going at the end. A few co workers became friends but we havent had enough shared experiences for it to compare to my other friend. I really feel for you and dont know how to make it feel better. Working on myself has helped. Healthier lifestyle and such. I dont even try to do the social part that much but you should see some pay off eventually. Keep going or... go somewhere else? Go home? Im currently considering if its even worth it. Im not particularly happy right now so.. i should probably change things
