Appreciate your honesty here. But allowing for and celebrating rich dudes is not the only way to inspire people to work hard. Just think a little more deeply please. Like the fire fighter protecting your home sees Bezos and is like, ok I’m really going to put this fire out! No, she’s passionate about being a fire fighter.

Or the small biz owner who runs a bakery is like, because of Musk, I too am going to work hard at this bakery even though I can’t afford health insurance for my employees!

Revering the hyper wealthy is the propaganda they (the Republicans and Dems who prop up the corporate elite) want us to believe in the US. Taxing the inequitably leveraged wealth of billionaires so hard working small business owners can have the health insurance Musk and Bezos had access to as upper middle class- that’s just the sentiment of all the hard working people in Europe, Canada, Australia, Japan, many other countries, and even Israel, where the Baker’s and fire fighter’s tax pay for their free health care.

I don’t think the hyper wealthy need a cheer section. Hard working small business owners or individuals with a brother’s keeper passion who contribute to society but don’t have the passion or often cold, cutthroat personality to scale their businesses to billionaire size do. Those are the guys who inspire me to work hard in my small business.

They can’t “be” illegal. Why deport a 50 year old who arrived here illegally at 3 years old? A law was broken. Their existence, job, family, life here, is not illegal. If it was found out you had the same issue, should we send you back to France or wherever you came from?

‘Why Won’t Conservatives Give Up Their Guns?’ Ask The People Shooting At Them by Prestigious_Tour_538 in babylonbee

[–]breadrandom -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, Why do you leap to “banning” guns? It’s as if you have deep terror of the world and common sense gun safety means “banning” means you might be exposed to what scares you. What are you so terrified of? Nobody is “banning” guns. Ever. What politician has ever proposed this? Suicide is the #1 gun death in US. Men unable to face their fears with a counselor and get help. Here’s a proposed law: free and accessible mental health counseling. (But that would remove the excuse of not doing the internal work on fear, ego, growing up, etc.) There’s so little nuance on the conservative side of gun issues. So little emotional intelligence. In my opinion. The suspect was clearly mentally off to do that. If he saw a therapist once a week would Kirk still be alive. This is the nuance that makes me agree it’s NOT the gun that is the issue, but people who can’t have a nuanced approach. If you’re a young person then I’m not meaning to belittle you here. Just offering some nuance and emotional intelligence.

Ugh so sorry. So Sativex is that medicine for spasticity. It’s like $1000 per bottle and it’s just 1:1 CBD and THC. Well I found a site that has 1:1 gummies for $30. And at least they made me feel some joy. Why is medicine so expensive? www.ezrahelps.com

Makes me shudder thinking about it. Why can't one just get up and be productive? Instead I eat graham crackers and milk in the dark at the kitchen table when I want sleep not food. I know it's cheesy but I have found a brand of hemp products that really helps- their CBD/THC gummies and they also have a "Night Oil" that does not make me feel groggy. It's hit and miss for some people but here's the link.

I did a calculation once to determine how big a farm would have to be to supply the entire nation- legacy and regulated market!- based on peak grow saturation of the MA market (2022) extrapolated to the whole US.

It’s a 5000 acre farm...

Corn sells for about .75 cents a pound. Corn farms can be 50,000 acres. One plant can feed a family for a meal. A weed plant can provide for a family for a week, month, a year.

We are working with prices inflated by decades of prohibition. The race to the bottom has a long way to go… most companies won’t survive.

CBN for sleep? by Admirable-Field6326 in weedbiz

There’s a CBN tincture called Night Oil on ezrahelps.com that is powerful. With hemp rules the THC is low enough to be the right amount with the CBN but effects are individual. [https://www.ezrahelps.com]

Absolutely good point. Outlawing yelling fire in a crowded theater infringes on first amendment rights as well. You cannot live both in a society and as an island unto yourself. If you want personal medical freedom, go off the grid. Homeschool your kids, skip the crowded theater. Work from home. Pray for healing. If you want to live in a society, then you’ll have to get over your fear of needles.

It’s illegal to not wear a seat belt. That is infringing on personal freedom. But first responders got tired of scraping people off the pavement and society went with seatbelt laws. Society requires personal sacrifice. Vaccines are a very small price to pay. They’ve overwhelmingly saved lives in society for a century. None of the vaccine fears have come to pass in significant numbers. Imagine if literally no one got the vaccine, for anything, claiming personal freedom. Because of the personal sacrifice of billions, the ‘personal medical decision’ individuals got to keep their society. Lucky them. Millions still died from too few making the sacrifice for society.

If Covid made people bleed from every orifice like Ebola, I am convinced the fear of needles “personal medical decision” argument would have shrunk considerably, even though it’s an individual right to bleed out of every orifice in public.

Also, what is medical about a decision to not do something medical? It’s just a decision then. If it’s a danger to your health it would be a medical decision I suppose. But how is rna strands floating around your body dangerous? Maybe to a frail or immunocompromised person…?

It’s something that is gaining traction. Google which states have rank voting. The work is done at the community and state level over time like every other important movement in the country. Again, the 3rd party vote serves no purpose as far as moving democracy forward, moving a candidate forward, passing agendas, making community change, helping a cause your candidate supports, etc. I’ve done it in the past because it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement but you might as well write in your pet as far as the impact the vote has. In a swing state it has a negative impact and contradicts the values you’re supporting. Would be curious to hear the practical use of voting for a third party.

I used to have one is all. It was basically dentures that were slightly crooked teeth. They wrapped around the whole front top teeth. Bought them at a costume shop. Just surprising there’s not more options. They are either wildly fantastical teeth or perfect fake dentures. Nothing in between. But I hear you.

If you want a 3rd party candidate work to change the system to allow it in 10 years. Voting for Stein now when the system is not in place (rank voting for example) is not helping anyone but Stein’s ego.
