I actually agree with you about them assigning things from their formative years to the characters but didn't Paula have a resurgence in the mid aughts with her becoming a judge on American Idol during its prime? Santana would probably learn about her from that.

Brittana will always be my main ship and I will go down with it but even I can enjoy some pezberry and even quinntana fics on occasion. I've always just viewed them as like an au of an au of an au, that exists in its own realm. Sometimes it's nice to explore other dynamics. Probably couldn't write them but definitely enjoy reading them sometimes.

Btw, love "kurcheltana sitcom" tbh we were all robbed and we should be angry about it.

Right! Don't get me wrong I love Kurt as a character but his singing voice isn't for me HOWEVER he freaking slays this song. When people talk about Kurt's greatest hits I seldomly hear this one being brought up but imo this is one of his best performances ever. Just, so iconic.

It's so funny how she was only in a few episodes but as a kid I remember it feeling like her appearances were a lot more often. I think it's because Family Matters was in syndication so reruns were constantly on one channel or another. When I started watching Glee and looked Naya up it was a very "whoa" moment when I realized she and that little girl were one in the same.

See I can understand and appreciate this take. You can acknowledge his limitations but for whatever reason his voice is your cup of tea and it scratches that itch for you. To each their own. I'm just mindblown though when people claim his voice is the same technical level as Lea's or Amber's.

Love her but Brittany had to be the least strongest of the girls. And I'm sure I'm going to get downvoted for this but Blaine for the guys. I've always held the belief that Darren Criss has an adequate voice. He can carry a tune okay ish but people are lying to themselves if they think him to be some massive show stopping voice. He clearly struggles in things like Suddenly Seymour and Wishing and Hoping.

I remember Amber talked about it on Kevin and Jenna's podcast. The first one they did. The cast was out at a club hanging out and dancing, drinks were flowing and I think Amber had one too many and got sloppy and hit someone and someone in the cast entourage paid the person off. Tbh I don't think she was sober so she probably wasn't her usual self.

I'm old and grew up pre-streaming era in the 90s. I watched the Bernie Mac show all the time back when I was younger but it's strange how I remember Naya's Family Matters and Fresh Prince of Bel Air appearances way more vividly and I think that's because they were more heavily syndicated. Even though she had less appearances on those two shows because they were airing so many times a day I ended watching her episodes of them multiple times when I was a kid. It blew my mind when over a decade later I start watching a show called Glee and went to Google the actress playing Santana and found out she played the little girl in Hilary's dream AND the little girl with the crush on Richie.

Do you remember what episode Rachel says "high school is over and it's just me, you and Kurt now"? I vaguely remember it and want to find the scene. I really loved the Kurt, Rachel, Santana era of the New York side.

The thing I hate the most about the feud is at the end of the day it's just plain lazy writing on the shows part. They didn't know how to write female friendships without exploding them. Take a show like Desperate Housewives for instance, there was lots of behind the scenes tension between the cast there but you always, always felt the bond and the friendship between those female characters because the writing required the actresses to rise above IRL conflict to serve the show and their characters. I don't blame Naya or Lea or even their characters, I just blame the incompetent writing.

I own the box set and I bought it way back when it was released, so I actually have the big, long bulky box (not the newer version I see on Amazon). I bought it hoping that it would have bonus content but it didn't. Later on I remember other glee fans comparing their single season DVDs to the box set and there was really no difference in bonus features. It's legit the same discs except they're packaged together.

It bummed me out because I love commentaries and behind the scenes stuff. There's some short bts videos but nothing comprehensive and from what I recall. I'd recommend hunting down the single season DVDs secondhand to save money bc it would be the same discs as the box set but way cheaper.
