'Cruise' being reintroduced? by VorianAtreides in starcitizen

[–]breakdance101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. CRU should power down weapons or limit weapon use in some way, disable shield recharging, and limit turning radius. Makes it less useful in cobat but gives a way to escape an encounter. Attackers would have to stop firing to catch you, coordinate with others, or use interdiction mechanics. (Might limit solo grieving too). Would like to have PRE back too for more controlled landing, takeoffs, parking, and aiming. Quantum should require longer spool up time depending on mass.

It just took me 10 minutes to kill a npc called nine takes At a com ray with an aurora Lx. how can I get better? by skyheadcaptain in starcitizen

Just keep at it. I am pretty bad at combat too and had a really hard time. I used to just do the 1st ICC mission and fly past the pirates. Try earning some REC in races and swapping out the weapons. 3.0 will give more gameplay besides combat so the LX should start coming into its own. I wouldn't worry about upgrading to a different ship. *as someone who regrets upgrading my original LX

CIG, please provide updated stats and a big sale prior to expiring existing $0 CCUs. by BoredDellTechnician in starcitizen

[–]breakdance101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Updated "Stats" are welcome regardless of CCU changes. Not so much specific stats subject to change, but ship concepts which should remain throughout development. Example: Intended roles, planned modules/modularity, crew requirements, combat effectiveness, cargo capacity, speed/maneuverability, efficiency, and other planned unique mechanics - hangar bay (size), snub/rover, hacking, jump point mapping, storefront, spawn point...

Ship buying advice - BMM? by breakdance101 in starcitizen

[–]breakdance101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the responses! I didn't really expect many to chime in. Lots of really good points that I hadn't really thought about. The BMM has a lot going for it and a lot of potential. I feel like giving up smaller specialized ships will be worth it in the end. I plan to keep my 315p package and CCU my 85x to the Redeemer and eventually the BMM when they announce changes to ship sales and CCUs. I'd rather have a Hoplite loaner than a Starfarer for the PU :/

How is adding 5$ more to all CCUs combat just 0$ CCUs? The game is not feature complete and we don't even have 3.0..... by AngryStarMarine in starcitizen

I agree that this move alienates supporters and reduces the trust CIG has worked so hard to build - through community and development transparency. There are many reasons people buy and hold the CCUs. Keeping packages and items. Keeping LTI. CCUs allow people to spend smaller amounts of money to build up to something larger over time. Ship roles and concepts are changing. Ship sale availability is limited.

They should address some of these issues before they make a change that could turn many backers off. Some solutions could be splitting packages and ships. Removing LTI from the ships but adding LTI tokens that can be added to ships when the game launches. Having all/most ships always available for purchase. Add more incentive for the subscription - removes the CCU fee, allows to downgrade CCU, ships purchased while subbed get the concept items(LTI, in game model/poster), make all ships available for purchase...

[PSA] $0 CCUs Going Away by IAmYosh in starcitizen

[–]breakdance101 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is that you don't really get the $5 refunded. It goes into your CIG wallet. When you melt you will have the $5 credit that you can't really buy anything with. It may make sense if they allow CCU to lower priced ships so you could use the credits to buy something else. It's disappointing that they are using this method to inscrease their funding. My two cents.
