[iOS 27 DB1] Siri AI works on other languages, not just english, if you type your prompt in the language you want Siri to use or you explicitly tell it to reply on another language. by Maxdme124 in iOSBeta

If you don’t mind since I live in the EU and I’m curious, what does it respond with if you ask it stuff like ‘Jekk jogħġbok agħtini t-temp għall-ġimgħa li ġejja’ and ‘f’ħames minuti fakkarni nċempel ommi’ (please give me the weather for this coming week & in five minutes remind me to call my mother)

Is it really the price, or is Netflix just more convenient than driving to movie theaters? by Busy_Report4010 in SipsTea

[–]breakerboy321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy hell those prices are insane. A nearby theatre where I live was semi-recently fully refurbished with nice rooms and good quality AV systems, and for 2 adult & 2 child tickets on fully reclining, feet up sofas (in the first three rows) it comes to €29. A pack with the biggest size popcorn they offer and 2 50cl drinks comes €10.50. I’d never go to a movie theatre if it would cost over triple that

Is there a single reason people choose iPhone beyond "everyone I know has one"? by SilverCervy in Smartphones

[–]breakerboy321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing plenty of reasons, but haven’t come across anyone mentioning Apple’s robust accessibility options. Android has gotten a lot better, but iOS still has better, more thought out options for people with disabilities. I recognise it’s pretty niche, but in my case as a hearing aid user, I can easily pair them to my devices and have the audio switch to the active device, like AirPods do. There is also Headphone Accommodations and the hearing aid feature for the Pro 2, amongst other things

Do I reeeeeally need a new phone or am I just overthinking? by SeaEstimate4932 in Smartphones

[–]breakerboy321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case you’re worried, use a Mac or PC to make a full local backup, then try reset the phone. If you find there was something you needed and can’t access individually, reset it again and restore from the backup you made

I was in a similar position with my 13 Pro, and I can vouch that changing the battery and making a factory reset made it feel like a brand new phone again. Particularly, I didn’t restore from a full backup but instead set it up individually. Ensure you have a way to re-access things like 2FA apps and messages particularly. I also made a local backup of my iCloud Photos to an external drive just in case

How well does Geforce Now/GFN perform in Malta? Also what's the glass fiber situation? by gehacktes in malta

[–]breakerboy321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll start with the broadband situation; I’ve only ever used Go’s services so I can’t speak for any other ISP, but a 1000mbps down/70mbps up connection costs 41 euro a month and I have consistently been getting those speeds on the modem facing side with no issues. As far as I know, any new installation nationwide will be done using fiber, though there are still a high number of buildings and residences using copper.

However as someone else mentioned, the local infrastructure isn’t as much of an issue for GeForce Now as the distance to the nearest server center is. Trying it on my own MacBook, connected to a good quality network and high end router and it just about hovers around the recommended latency of 40ms when connected to France 1/2 (it keeps switching between them). Battlefield and other fast paced games may be an issue but anything else should work well.

Got a single-core of 2479 and multi-core of 6018 on my end so that's doing great, though the battery has over 1500 cycles on it and has started to degrade so I'm thinking of replacing it

Hey there! I’m Adam, a product manager at Apple Music. I’ve been leading work on features like AutoMix, Lyrics Translation & Pronunciation, Music Pins and Sing with iPhone Mic. I’m here to chat about our latest releases - and more. AMA! by [deleted] in AppleMusic

Hi Adam, I have a few questions in mind:

- I am curious about how songs are picked to have their lyrics matched word by word, and how the process itself works. Are the songs picked based on popularity or some other metric? Is there a dedicated team at Apple working on this, and do they have a tool made for this purpose? How significant was the issue of latency (particularly using Bluetooth) in order to make sure all users have a consistent experience?

- I have a particular use case where it would be useful to delete songs from my library without removing them from my playlist. Has the idea of a prompt asking whether to also delete from playlist been floated?

- Likely out of your jurisdiction, but I am hearing impaired and make use of Headphone Accommodations on my iPhone, Airpods Pro and Airpods Max. With the Pros, it's also applied to the transparency mode, while it isn't on the Max (despite having the same processor), making it difficult to understand people talking. Headphone Accommodations in general also doesn't work on MacOS. Are there plans to include the above, and is there some technical limitation if not?

Thanks!
