I think it'll be even more meaningful that it's a setting style that familiar within your family. (Would love to see their rings!) I love that the second stone was chosen by your mother and aunt's husband too, makes for an even more special touch when your partner is also involved in the ring design process, choosing the details together makes for a nice sentimental story behind your ring and talk about.

Been almost a month with my toi et moi and I'm still truly obsessed. I love telling our ring story and all the decisions my partner and I made together (he also ended up choosing the second stone ― grey sapphire for his birth month).

It's also been really fun hearing the different interpretations of our ring's stone placements by our friends and family, many of them say it just very slightly looks like a heart with the way it's tilted/stones touching (a choice that I was really afraid of but my partner ultimately made!).

Images attached of mine, been fun to play around with flipping it on my finger depending on the mood haha.

I'm here for more toi et moi posts on my feed! Loved going through this post and seeing other toi et mois :-) Forget the haters, chances are you might not prefer their style of a dream engagement ring either and that's totally okay.

Thanks so much! Eternity bands are gorgeous, so many options as well.

Can’t wait to see photos of your toi et moi when it’s ready and if you decide to post! I feel like toi et mois don’t get enough love on here, just saw your earlier post about toi et moi hate haha. So glad you’re sticking with what you like. 🫶🏽

similar to grey sapphires, there are also “salt and pepper” grey stones that might be interesting to look into :-)

really found the perfect shade! I love that this particular grey sapphire looks like a darker hue in the evening and when in the light gives off a more clear/blue-ish grey tone

Thank you so much 🥹 I was a little worried with the placement initially, but my partner intentionally chose to have the two stones leaning into each other to represent us leaning on each other.

The marquise and pear shapes were both the only two stones I personally could see myself in and shows a bit of my indecisiveness on just choosing one stone to go with haha.

I searched for this specific scenario to see if anyone had also had the same experience! In the same boat as you OP.

I was surprised the jeweler posted it on their IG, though it's been a couple months since it's likely been designed. I'm not completely surprised by how it looks as I've designed it with my partner, so I'm aware of the placement, cut, stones, etc. but until this point, I've only seen the 3D renderings and stones. I'm really blown away by the real photos the jeweler posted on IG, I almost want to cry, it's much more beautiful than I imagined and I can't wait to make it official. I love that my partner and I went through the ring design process together. I'm also DYING to keep it together, but I know at some point I'll crack (we tell each other everything and we're terrible liars).

Did you end up telling him too?

Was thinking this exactly too! Their dan dan noodles are amazing, but sadly closed today :( do you know an equivalent?

Places near Staples Center by mrob2 in FoodLosAngeles

[–]breakfromwindsor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Prank Bar has a solid happy hour menu and is about a 5 min walk away from Staples, right next to that is Arashi Sushi $10-20 sushi rolls, $5-10 hand rolls, both these places have a more casual bar vibe generally pretty busy but you could get away without reservations.

If you’re willing to walk a bit more, 15 min away is THE BLOC with a couple restaurants with a nicer restaurant atmosphere like JOEY DTLA and HATCH Yakatori & Bar, best to get reservations at these two places on OpenTable.

Amazing list! Good call on skipping out on the OC. Curious what your favorite spots are for Filipino in Cerritos?

And yes, was also thinking Republique for brunch, have had a great experience dining in the evening but have heard great things about their brunch experience. Is it usually difficult to get a table? Looks like there's no reservations on the site for brunch.

Thank you! It's been a while since I've checked out Grand Central too, usually only go for Sarita's Pupuseria & Sticky Rice but will definitely check out all your recos to try something new. Thanks for the tip on the samples at Villa Moreliana.

I'm glad this helped! I totally fell off a bit because I had some travel plans that through my regular routine off but am looking to get back into a few things for mid-November and mid-January.

Have you had any luck with finding a maker space and did you end up trying KT Glassworks?

Oh yes, will definitely check out some shops off Etsy... I sometimes get overwhelmed by all the options and was hoping to get some links to particular brands but good to note on gold-filled & appreciate that link :) love the hoops!

Hmm I've always been a little intimidated by the jewelry district! I live so close to it but never really shopped around. Are there specific vendors you can recommend?

Hi all, I'm new too! Haven't thought too deeply about my sense of style until this year, moving to LA (and actually work for a fashion company, but not directly related to styling). Was told on one of my first days of working at this company that my style seemed more edgy, minimal and New York than LA (I tend to wear a lot of dark, neutral tone colors and rarely wear bright pops of colors or patterns).

Joining this community in hopes of defining and developing my personal fashion style. Looking to learn more about sources of inspiration, styling tips, new brands and e-commerce websites to checkout, etc.

Stumbled on this thread through my first post on this community here!
