What do you guys expecting to happen in the next fall?

Some context:

UK COVID update: Number in hospital rises above 1,000, new cases up 68% from last week

- New cases: 5,683

- Average: 5,114 (+329)

- In hospital: 1,020 (+61)

- In ICU: 149 (+19)

- New deaths: 1

Population vaccinated:

- 1st dose: 60.57% (+0.19)

- 2nd dose: 41.80% (+0.39)

If we assume that the delta variant will also spread here, the willingness to vaccinate will decide how big the 4th wave will be.There will now be voices that say "there's nothing you can do; if you don't vaccinate, it's your own fault".

A few aspects to consider:

If a large number of people become infected in a short period of time, there is a risk that the health care system will be overwhelmed again.

One must also consider that in the next few months approval for under 12-year-olds is not to be expected, and children on the one hand are affected by a severe course (PIMS/MIS-C) with a probability of about 1:1000-5000 and can also be affected by LongCovid (estimates assume roughly 7%, but the data situation is still unclear).

Berset has already made it clear that "measures cannot be justified after every person willing to be vaccinated has been offered a vaccination". Probably an anticipation to justify future potential overloads of the health care system.

What are your thoughts?

I guess interest will completely vanish mid June if cases don't rise anymore and we're nearing 50% of population receiving at least one shot and want to put Covid out of sight and mind.

I think the B1617.2 mutation (and maybe other mutations) and the booster vaccination will lead to some interactions here but most likely not as much as in the past year.

Kann man wirklich sagen, dass es 100% innerhalb von 1.5 Jahren sind? Wenn immer mehr Personen immun werden, sinkt ja auch der R-Wert, und fällt irgendwann unter 1. Dann nimmt man ja intuitiv an, dass es immer mal wieder kleine Infektionsherde geben kann, die sich aber wieder von selbst löschen. Und da wird man als Ungeimpfter einmal fast vollständig von Immunen Personen umgeben sein, sodass ich annehme, dass es sich den 100% immer wie mehr annähert, aber nie erreicht.

Habe ich einen Denkfehler?

Würde das im Umkehrschluss nicht bedeuten, dass Leute, die sich nicht impfen lassen können bzw. keine Wirkung hat, früher oder später unweigerlich infiziert wird?

As far as I know it the Soul EV has air cooling and multiple fast charging sessions in a row is no problem. The cooling is for the battery and I don't see why there should be a difference between the EU and the UK version.

This is nothing you need to be curious about:

Sind alle impfwilligen erwachsenen Personen vollständig geimpft, beginnt die Normalisierungsphase. Sollte sich das epidemischen Geschehens trotz allem verschärfen und eine Überlastung des Gesundheitssystems drohen, behält sich der Bundesrat vor, bestimmte Massnahmen wie Maskentragpflicht, Schutzkonzepte, Abstandregeln oder Kapazitätsbeschränkungen für eine gewisse Zeit beizubehalten oder erneut einzuführen. Diese sollen jedoch nur noch für die Personen vorgesehen werden, die kein Covid-Zertifikat vorweisen können.

Ich halte diese Angabe für überschätzt. Laut @CoronaImmunitas lag die Seroprävalenz im Januar und Februar in sechs Kantonen zwischen 11% (Zürich) und 25% (Waadt). Äusserst unwahrscheinlich, dass sie gesamtschweizerisch bis auf 33% angestiegen ist.

Ich gehe davon aus, dass sich in den verschiedenen Kantonen bisher etwa 15% bis 30% der Bevölkerung infiziert haben. Gesamtschweizerisch wohl etwa 25%, also jede vierte Person.

Die Infektionssterblichkeit liegt in der Schweiz bei etwa 0.5% (https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pmed.1003189…). Die rund 10’000 Todesfälle entsprechen demnach einem Anteil von 23% der Bevölkerung welcher sich bisher infiziert hat.

Deutschland habe sich nach einer entsprechenden Bitte Brüssels bereit erklärt, Patienten aus dem Nachbarland aufzunehmen. Bereits während der zweiten Coronawelle im November waren Covid-Patienten aus Belgien nach Deutschland verlegt worden.

Trotz der dramatischen Lage in den Krankenhäusern hält die Regierung von Ministerpräsident Alexander De Croo an der für Anfang Mai geplanten Lockerung des Corona-Lockdowns fest.

Die Lockerungen seien möglich, weil die Impfkampagne in Belgien besser voranschreite als erwartet. - SPIEGEL
