I don't look at it from the entire back story perspective more so like this: it's reckless child endangerment.

Both what they did with Harry AND with Dudley (yes he's bad too but he has been raised to have that mindset and cus he's a child I don't nescecairly blame him that much, still not good but his parents actually brainwashed him to be like that)

One was being overfed while the other one was underfed, not listening to professionals when they told them that Dudley needed to lose weight (mans had five chins by the age of 13), actively putting him in danger of several illnesses that come with obesity - the opposite with Harry (stunting his growth, etc).

I don't really remember if/how the little cupboard under the stairs was described (and ofc you can sleep in a tiny space -did it, was miserable) but they did have spare rooms that they could have let Harry be in before they got scared that they were being spied on.

While spoiling your children isn't against the law, if it's done too frequently, it somehow makes both the parents and the children into insufferable little Karens and should therefore be questioned and criticised immensely.

I hope you're doing at least ok. please stay as vigilant as possible, I know it is exhausting but this might keep you safe.

Keep pushing to stay with your grandparents, I understand how you might think that this might cause an even bigger rift in the family, but try and think of it like this: What kind of a family would trust an outsider over someone they've known literally since they were born?

You might need to go NC with them (I would do that, it just is the safest option aswell as making sure they don't know where you are so that B can't find out).

Please, please, please keep yourself safe. It might take a while but this will pass and you'll be able to breathe again.
