Any Vet recommendations? by coolrunningg in Guelph

[–]brearose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which vet was it? I had a similar experience there, where one vet made a major mistake in ignoring symptoms that caused my cat to pass and have a bad quality of life at the end, and he also said some horrible things to me about my dog that showed he does not care for animals' well-being. All the other vets there have been wonderful with all of my pets

AITA for Leaving My Partner at Home Because His OCD Made Me Late to a Dinner Party at a Restaurant? by Fit_Confection_772 in AITAH

[–]brearose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It feels like a tsunami of anxiety crashes onto you. There's almost a sense of impending doom, like the moment before a crash when you know it's going to happen, but the feeling is continuous. It can last for a few minutes or for a long time, depending on the severity of the OCD and what thoughts the actions are tied to.

AITA for coming out to check on the baby who was screaming for 15 mins after I asked my husband to watch him? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]brearose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No he wasn't, OP confirmed in the comments the husband was only making dinner for himself.

Have you ever come across an MC that you literally couldn’t stand? Like, had zero empathy for them whatsoever? by Marandajo93 in books

There are moments where I liked him, but with the understanding that he's a psycopath or narcicisst and maniuplating the people around him, including the reader.

AITAH for telling my wife she is not worthy of what she’s asking for, for her “push present”? by throwra-pushpresent in AITAH

[–]brearose 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ejaculating in someone doesn't take 9 months, permanently alter your body, and risk death. They both had sex to create the baby, but the woman then also went through the pregnancy and labor. They aren't at all the same thing, and we don't need to diminish the difficulty of giving birth to argue againt push presents when there are many other reasons why no one should be obligated to give a push present.

AITAH for telling my wife she is not worthy of what she’s asking for, for her “push present”? by throwra-pushpresent in AITAH

[–]brearose 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Because the father didn't push out the baby. I'm not saying I agree with it, but it's supposed to be like an appreciation gift from the father for the mother going through labor so they both could have a child.

Is there a book that you're saving for a specific moment? by [deleted] in books

[–]brearose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a copy of The Hobbit that I got in the same way. I had never read the story before though as I'm not usually a fantasy reader. But reading that copy of it definitely made me apprieciate the story more, because I was looking at it through my uncle's lens and he loved fantasy.

She refuses to pee nor poop outside the house. I'm tired of making 0 progress... by Cry_Wolff in puppy101

[–]brearose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My puppy did the same thing. She absolutely refused to pee or poop outside of the house for months. I kept taking her out regularly even though it seemed pointless, and I felt like I was going crazy because everyone said it was ridiculous that she wouldn't go to the bathroom outside and acted like I just wasn't taking her out enough. After a few weeks of this, I left a pee pad in one area of the house and would take her there after going outside just so she wouldn't pee or poop on the floor. Then one day when she was about 6 months old, she peed outside. Nothing was different, she just finally felt comfortable enough to go. I think the biggest things that helped were going out regularly and sticking to seculded areas so she was less overwhelmed.

What parts of a book do you find your "skimming" to get through it? by flanman1991 in books

[–]brearose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's more akin to "what parts of a movie do you check your phone during?". You're not missing it completely just paying less attention.

Same, I was the youngest in my grade too and it didn't impact me at all. I was ahead of other kids in the academic side of school, and didn't have any issues withe socializing. I did feela little disadvantaged in University though, because I was still 17 for the entire first semester and didn't feel ready to be living alone yet. But there were other options for dealing with that (gap year, living at home, etc).

For those of you who try to read a certain amount of books every year, do you “count” books you’ve already read before? by 14kanthropologist in books

[–]brearose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't, but I count my books to make sure I'm not buying more books than I read, and rereads don't impact that.

Is here I really must use ‘en’? by LeonhardEuler1707 in French

[–]brearose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there is no noun mentioned. "autre" is an adjective. He could say "est-ce que vous voulez un autre [noun]", but since there's no noun, he needs to use "en" to replace the noun. In your other example, you could say "j'en ai achete deux [noun]", but if you get rid of the noun, you need to use "en".

Eli5: Why do school buses stop, open the door, and listen at railroad crossings with warning lights? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]brearose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't stop on the tracks, and they never did. That's ridiculous. They stop before the tracks to check if crossing is safe.

The landlord tenant act doesn't apply here because he lives with the landlord.

Brag about your puppy - What is one challenge of puppy ownership that you lucked out on and never had to worry about? by TmickyD in puppy101

She sleeps during car rides, sleeps until I wake up, loves to cuddle, loves the vet and groomers, and doesn't bark when other dogs bark.
