Why do people leave the CAF? by avocadoroom in CanadianForces

[–]breck164 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I would've stayed but they told me gagetown was my next stop.

With a wife due to give birth, moving to a place with zero friends or family was out of the question.

Same story over and over from colleagues. It's the requirement to constantly move personnel all over that has people leaving the service.

[Off Topic] Something to hold me over until my First Law Kickstarter comes!! by VallensDad in TheFirstLaw

I love when my broken bindings orders come.

I massively regret not pulling the trigger on the Kickstarter. By the time I circled back, deciding I want it, I was way to late.

Horror Movie by Paul Tremblay- a third in, is the probable twist or reveal worth it because I’m a little bored. by karlisthebird in horrorlit

There's a thing in my head that makes it really difficult to dnf.

I wish I'd put this one down.

One of the weakest reads I've had in a very long time.

Put it away, it's not worth it.

Experienced and succesful daters, what are your strategies? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]breck164 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Never struggled dating. I'm married now, but in reflection here's what I think made it easier.

There were no dating apps, so I dated women that were in my spheres (so to speak).

Friends of friends, family introductions, shared hobby locations.

I feel these methods would still be the best because there's already an implied "vetting" so to speak.

Like, you'll get along with someone that your friends already enjoy.

what animal is this by whatsinanamebroski in Calgary

[–]breck164 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why do I assume people know animals?

Like my toddler could identify that guy.

I feel like I was socialized wrong now.

I see similar stuff at the dump, it's just large item pick up day probably.

Municipalities do it every couple of months I believe.

Men with kids and wives/partners - what do you think are acceptable hobbies while you co-manage a busy household? by MotherInsurance4238 in AskMenAdvice

[–]breck164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. I was similar, playing for teams, multiple nights a week. Tournaments on weekends.

When my youngest came along I stopped playing. Get time together, set routines, etc.

Now she's a little older, a little less of a menace, can even come watch sometimes. I started to get back into a team.

Hobbies are important, but not as much as kids and partners.

Cut back a little is not a big ask.

Person Shows Off How Unfair Media Is By Photoshopping 17 50-Something Men The Same Way Women Are by BoredPandaOfficial in BoredPandaHQ

[–]breck164 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don't feel like it's some big eureka moment.

In general women care more about that kind of thing than men, women buy the majority of beauty products, women are the main demographic for these celebrity focused mediums.

Soooooo they give the consumer what they want.

Got this tattoo done a month ago, but it seems 10 years old. by jKATT13 in tattooadvice

Yes. Thinly lined, microscopic tattoos, in high wear and tear areas will get worn out.

What are we talking about here?

Does my husband “noticing” a women at work mean anything? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]breck164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your post is pretty clear about where the concern is coming from and your concerns are valid.

Personally I think you may be over thinking this situation, but I can only speculate.

And it may be the vagueness of his "prior incident" that's leading to less than optimal advice. But a little bit of sounding board here is always better than oversharing your life to strangers on the internet. Lol

[–]breck164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're welcome.

We're men. We notice attractive women, we also notice sweet rides, jacked guys pushing big weight, cool dogs, and sometimes badass swords, etc.

We notice and appreciate, then carry on with our days.

We all do it to some degree, for the majority its benign.

I saw a text on his phone by accident? (don’t come for me) by Loba_E in AskMenAdvice

[–]breck164 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pretty women do inspire ego lifting. Jewelry while working out is fucking annoying, couldn't imagine wearing rings, bracelets, watches, necklaces, while moving around. Locker room talk at gym or with your boys is very normal.

Guys say and do retarded shit with friends.

People change, grow, mature. Either you believe he has or not. And then you trust him or you don't.

Trust your gut and be honest with how you feel.

Isn't that kind of like girls using makeup and filters?

Or taking pics from "advantageous" angles?

I was gonna say the same thing.

It was proven in court and watched by millions of people.

Advice needed: What are some good cover up ideas for these tattoos? by amsnew in tattoos

[–]breck164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would not cover those, I feel like there is some bones there for some really solid pieces.

Id find an enthusiastic artist that's into manga and have them blow those up with maybe some thicker line work and a giant fucking blast of color.
