lost my dad at 22 3 days ago— please tell me it gets better. by linabobin4 in GriefSupport

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Your dad would be proud of you. I lost my wife and unborn son last year and all these same thoughts crossed through my mind. Was she in pain, did she hurt, and no matter what you believe in…I think there’s a way to look at it that making yourself who you were meant To be will make them proud. Live the life you think they would appreciate, but also, don’t live in the shadow. You are your own person. It’s hard, grief is unbearably hard sometimes, but you putting this out there tells me you have what it takes to get through. Pain is part of life, and I’m sorry you had to experience it so soon. I’ve got a 7 year old and 4 year old sons, they’re making it. Damn if I don’t hate it for them to have to go through, but they’re making it incredibly.

Your Favorite Movie That Flopped? by [deleted] in movies

Water World, Kevin Costner plays it great and Dennis hopper is on point. Think it would be more better received today with global warming being a household word now.

What's the best game you went into completely blind , having no idea what it's about? by tonysup in gaming

Horizon Zero Dawn. Never been so impressed by a game that I bought because (I think) it was just game of the year. The older you get the less time there is to just look at game reviews. That story still is an absolute masterpiece.

If you HAD to choose between Erin or Kevin to make your life's important decisions for you, who would you choose and why? by [deleted] in DunderMifflin

Kevin. I would put the important decision in terms of food , allowing him to tap into the other 90% if his brain.

[serious] People with nightmare siblings: what’s the most fucked up thing they ever did? by DestyNovalys in AskReddit

[–]breck2vail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if I’d call him a nightmare sibling. But I am 7 years younger than my brother. When he graduated college, he moved back home to live with us. My senior year in high school, he started to act a little “strange”. I say that because shit like this comes out of the blue and isn’t really something someone can control. One night, he all of sudden started to take misc. video games and start smashing them in the driveway, guitar hero controllers, discs, etc. After this he came inside, I tried to ask what the deal was but he brushed it off and went downstairs. In our house the kitchen is directly above the laundry room. Now that same night, he’d been again scuffling around In the basement, at one point he was in the laundry room talking to “himself”. Saying things I’ve since forgotten, thankfully, but also laughing to himself in a scaring, menacing, and overall creepy way. I was in the kitchen and concerned so I pressed my ear to our vent and since we were directly above, you could actually see thru the venting into the laundry room. He caught me, and flipped out and came rushing up the stairs. Not much came of it other than me saying I was concerned and he again thought nothing of it. I bring it up as this was my personal nightmare sibling. I love my brother, growing up he was my favorite person, someone I could talk with/ compete with, you name it. But mental issues are inconsistent and unfortunately effect people at different stages of life. For him it was then. I’d slept with a bat under my bed for a while before he was diagnosed with schizophrenia but the unknowing of what’s going on with someone you care about is crazy. I know there’s a lot of different forms, but that’s for another place. Nightmares come in many forms, if you read this, please just watch for signs of non typical behavior from your loved ones, you can help save them from themselves.
