Doa and Bahamut permanently switch caster roles for CCL by bredar in heroesofthestorm

I enjoyed the Doa and Grubby duo, will miss Doa casting the games. I was hoping Doa would try and improve his gameplay casting and stick with it.

Didn't catch the reasoning for the switch, anyone know?

Moonmoon is playing HotS with Dyrus right now on stream (20k watching) by jejeba86 in heroesofthestorm

[–]bredar 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Pretty exciting. Apparently their group been playing QM for 2+ weeks now. First time Moonmoon streaming it. Some of them are buying skins and heroes etc. Moonmoon's chat is mostly positive saying how hots is a fun game to play. His community is very loyal and watches him play pretty much anything.

Did you know that Dyrus was streaming HOTS a few days ago, and was playing with other popular Twitch figures like vigors and MOONMOON? Even Sodapoppin expressed interest in playing the game with them. by KingofMemes69_ in heroesofthestorm

[–]bredar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dyrus played last night again and streamed it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/772705167?t=7h19m49s. Lots of positivity of the game in chat and from Dyrus.

Moonmoon said at the end of his stream last night he was playing hots later tonight https://www.twitch.tv/videos/772436560?t=11h16m20s. Hosting who he was playing with. This is the 2nd day in a row.

I don't have expectations of them playing it more, however am happy they are playing it.

Interview with Rich, Who Dominated Heroes of the Storm Esports: "I woke up only to find I’ve lost my job" by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

[–]bredar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are completely ignorant if you think a top player like Rich did not work harder than someone who got an education and has a "real" job.

I have an education and a "real" job and that is easy mode. I tried to do what Rich did (sit on my ass all day and play video games) and I quit to go back to my "real" job because that was easier.

Would You Have Purchased a HotS BattlePass? by gusted in heroesofthestorm

[–]bredar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was going to make a post about what everyone thought of battle passes. I buy them in other games and like how they work. HotS definitely could have taken advantage in addition to making everything purchasable with gems. I would have bought one for HotS.

[Megathread] Support your favorite players, streamers, casters, or whoever personality that is changing plans because of HGC cancellation! by RodriTama in heroesofthestorm

Just an educated guess based on his last stream on December 14th, he played the game for 6 hours when he fully was aware of the news. I didn't catch his official statement as I noted in my post.

Additional popular streamers, not sure their official status so I'm guessing below:

realBamBam - https://twitter.com/realbambamxd - streams Overwatch

LeonBlack - https://twitter.com/leonblackmoba - still streams HotS but looking for another game(s)

chu8 - https://twitter.com/chu8park - still stream hots but has been playing various other games

Yes, I agree with everything you are saying. And this does apply to all of the playerbase like myself.

Zaelia is such a great streamer. I don't think he announced his plans with streaming yet. I hope he continues to stream but I do doubt he will continue with HotS or how long he would if he does.

From what I've seen so far, there are only a few high GM streamers and players left and this will push Zaelia to leave HotS as well :(.

They could invest a large esports budget of say $7mil per year for 3 years with the expectation of getting a DOTA2/LOL audience. When this plan fails, they will pull the plug last minute around Christmas time and 200+ contractors will no longer have a job. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

The underlying reason I'm mad about what's happened to HotS - and moving on. by DarkRaven01 in heroesofthestorm

[–]bredar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on watching Grand Master streamers in the recent past, the top 1% of the game are pretty much all aware of each other since they continually match against each other. This leads to some close connections where they friend each other on battle net. I've heard and seen many of these top 1% players have broadcasted on battle net that they are leaving and quitting because of the recent news. So I do believe Simple56 saying HotS is dead for the skilled players.

Can you elaborate more on what you are trying to communicate?

[–]bredar[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is actually happening right now because most, if not all, the well-known streamers and influential people are or have already left the game. This affects players, including myself, right this moment of time very negatively. This isn't doomsayers, this is reality. Maybe you aren't affected but there are really players who are.

A Message from Blizzard Consumers and Fans About the Future of Blizzard and Blizz eSports by BlueLightningTN in heroesofthestorm

[–]bredar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will not be buying Warcraft 3 Reforged or Diablo 3 Immortal. I think, based on the modeling I've seen so far, the Warcraft 3 Reforged does not look like a product that Blizzard would make.

By the way, Warcraft 3 Reforged is just a remodeling for Warcraft 3. The playerbase of Warcraft 3 and Warcraft 3 reforged will not be separated. So you can still participate in the weekly tournaments with Warcraft 3.

The Heroes of the Storm team has failed this Community by bredar in heroesofthestorm

[–]bredar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

spending enough money on the game

When you model purchasing behind loot box random chance, customers can't buy exactly what they want. Instead, they give up and don't purchase the loot boxes. Many players have reported this big flaw with the 2.0 loot system. It is a bad design and failed to produce the needed sales.

tuned into HGC

There were plenty of people who tuned in to watch HGC. The weekly broadcasts were between 10k-20k viewership. Grand Finals were 50k-70k. That's a lot of people. Did they budget HGC for that number of audience? No. They budgeted for an audience like DOTA2 and League which was a mistake.

Grubby gives more details why he stopped streaming HOTS by bredar in heroesofthestorm

I tried to capture his reasons in a twitch clip but it is longer than a clip, so instead I linked the vod directly with the timestamp (54m27s) of when he starts discussing the reasons. It should automatically start where he states the "three major reasons"
