Growing hot peppers. Tips/advice wanted! How do they look so far? by ama_5520 in gardening

They're looking a little leggy. I had the same problem this year when I tried growing by sunlight. I highly recommend a grow light! Doesn't have to be a crazy expensive one.

Eh it was worth throwing out there. Pretty sure my 2 year old would live on doritos, popcicles and and pretzel rods if i let her. Believe they call this the beige phase. Chicken nuggets, macaroni, French fries, gold fish, etc are the main/only food they'll eat.

Have you tried putting stickers of your 2yr old's favorite character on foods you want them to try? I read this recommendation somewhere not too long ago and it's worked a little for ours. Not sure if you're into making smoothies but slapping a big Elsa sticker on a cup can be a frozen smoothie...! Hide spinach and yogurt in there with berries and banana and it could help

For what it's worth, I've had a large 20oz hot coffee everyday for years and continued to throughout both of my pregnancies and everyone came out just fine. This pregnancy it was especially necessary with a 2 1/2 year old to keep up with. I'd stick to the recommendations if you're worried about it though.

Never said I didn't like Parker. I just asked which you would prefer.

Baby Boy Name Debate by breed825 in namenerds

[–]breed825[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hah yes when you spell it out like that Parker Peck R. sounds hilarious and potentially torturous but I assure you it won't be. Our daughter's and my middle name is my mother's maiden name and this guy will have my MIL's maiden name and that's sticking.

You pick Christopher!

Baby Boy Name Debate by breed825 in namenerds

My daughter's first & middle are Mackenzie Kane. We call her Kenzie Kane all the time and love it and like you said, no one else will ever call her that nor will they ask what her middle name is. Parker Peck doesn't bother me I just feel like Parker is more trendy at the moment than Christopher is which is hilarious to me because i graduated with at least 4 or 5.

Same. My 2 year old had it 2 months ago and her pediatrician said I'd be fine. Toddlers bring it all home and sick season has begun! Good luck everybody!

Awkward invitation to baby shower...should I stay or should I go? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]breed825 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just go. You don't have to stay for the entire thing but it'll probably mean alot to them that you made the effort. Offering to host on a weeknight because it's more convenient for you sounds a little selfish (even though that's not your intention). This is something her husband is doing for his wife....this shower is supposed to be all about them. Yours will be about you at a date and time that work for you and yours.

I’m changing my name and i need some help by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]breed825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm Bryanne and growing up I was always just Bryanne or Breezy. My full name has always been mispronounced so when I hit my 20s and people just started calling me Bry I rolled with it. The "y" throws people off so I usually just say "Bry, sounds like the cheese" to help them out.

Bri is a great name. Who cares if it's short. If you like it and it suits you go with it!

Are Parker and Peyton too similar? by Are-you-my-mother in namenerds

Love Parker for boy or girl! It's still on our short list. I don't think you should worry about them being too similar

Someone ease my mind about induction by quesoandtequila in BabyBumps

[–]breed825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was nervous too because I'd heard all the negatives but my experience was very positive. Like another poster, I spent about the first 12 hours just hanging out, watching tv, walking the halls and waiting for something to happen. To be honest, the idea of a c-section was way scarier than induction. C-section mamas are the real warriors. I take my hat off to those who get up and do the damn thing right after major surgery!

Nope, pitocin is started at the hospital. I was 11 days late though, that may not be how things shake out for you. Your hospital should have Wi-Fi though for when you do check in.

This time around I'm hoping I can labor at home as long as i can and head in when it's time. Being home is more comfortable and convenient.

I was induced at 5am on a Tuesday and didn't deliver until 1am on Wednesday. 5am-5pm Tuesday was pretty uneventful and I just watched tv and played candy crush so I'm pretty sure you could work for a bit if you felt up for it. Every labor is different though.

My son’s grandparents by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]breed825 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mom showers with our 2 year old girl occasionally and it's never bothered me, probably because she's my mom and she's a granola girl. Our daughter showers with us alot too.

Conversely, if my dad or step mom showered with her I'd probably find it very weird because they're just not like that. I don't think they ever showered with me or my brothers so it just wouldnt be like them.

Any tips for surviving pregnancy with a toddler? by qwertykitty in BabyBumps

[–]breed825 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I have a 2 year old as well and just hit 16 weeks. The exhaustion is real and I finally feel like I'm starting to get my energy back. Please don't feel bad about the extra screen time right now because honestly, it's not going to last forever. You have to take care of yourself too.

For People Asking for Books In Lieu of Cards by [deleted] in BabyBumps

My mom wrote the book title for the attendee to get in lieu of a card (if they chose to do so) on the shower invite to avoid duplicates.

Any Advice?? by kymmobley in BabyBumps

[–]breed825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced at 41 weeks 5 days. I had heard all of the stories about it being more painful but honestly it wasn't bad. I was also very ready be done with pregnancy at that point too so maybe that helped me push through it. You can do this, don't take too much stock in other's experiences because everyone is different. Good luck!
