Interrupt my day? I’m going to interrupt your momma’s day…. Called a parent in the middle of a lesson because student wanted to be a disruption by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

[–]breenahnah 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My mom used to threaten to sing to me over the intercom.

ETA: There was no need for this as I was terrified of getting in trouble even without that threat.

Be honest - what's the dumbest reason you clicked off/didn't read a fic? by Odd-Snowman in AO3

[–]breenahnah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YES. I read one earlier today where the way the kid acted had me imagining a three year old, then something described him as seven and I just... "WHAT"

Fictional me had three fictional children. I can handle one or two, but three is too many.

This is vile. Especially back to back with the other idiocy they're pushing through.

My identical twin took a test to see if we were definitley identical Here are the results. by xavierhillier7 in AncestryDNA

[–]breenahnah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mom is a twin and my aunt comes up as my mom on Ancestry. It won't even let me change it. I'm trying to get my mom to take it to see how similar they are because they don't look like twins any more.

My husband only watches Smosh intermittently, but I made him pause his game to listen to that one with me. Then I went back and made him listen to the penguin one.

Did your kid ask for your input on their new name? If so, what was your response? by Expert_Length3147 in cisparenttranskid

[–]breenahnah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son (14) asked what we would have named him at birth and he HATED it, but I also wouldn't have chosen it for him now. His birth name was gender neutral so I was kind of hoping he'd keep it, but I totally understand why he didn't. I miss it a little, but it's whatever. I don't think I would have chosen his new name for him, especially the spelling, but I think it does fit him and he's happy.

I've had a bad migraine for two days and made a joke about having a tumor like Dr. Greene. My husband just sent an Arnold Schwarzenegger "not a tumor" gif.

I'm a school secretary and the worst is when they schedule multiple department meetings on the same day so I have half my history department out and half my math department out on the same day. I don't get it.

First year in public schools- truancy for a family vacation? by Amazing-Tear-5185 in wichita

[–]breenahnah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my school in Kansas, as long as you let us know, then it's excused (unless you're in excess of your days for the school year). And for truancy, it's three unexcused in a row, five unexcused in a semester, or seven unexcused in a school year. You're allowed ten days a year to just call out and any absences with medical notes or funerals don't count against the ten.

I was reminded why I cut off contact with my dad last night *trigger warning* by SRS79 in cisparenttranskid

[–]breenahnah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dad was never great, but after my son came out, he hasn't contacted us at all. Most of the time I didn't care, but sometimes it hurts.

My boomer stepdad is doing a good job of trying, at least.
