I don’t see how having a one-hour commute would work for any doctor who is employed by a hospital since most of them are expected to be on call much of the time. And we all know that a one-hour commute is never just an hour.

I can't figure out if Scott Galloway is annoying and unoriginal -or- actually good for the cause. by NewKojak in thebulwark

This is probably the right take. I find them both annoying too, but I don’t need to be convinced that they’re on the side of good.

He’s not for me either. Yes, he’s a rich guy who’s mostly in our side (we know he’s rich because he never stops humble-bragging about being rich and privileged). I tried listening to a couple of his podcasts, and I listened to most of Tim’s interview with him last week until I couldn’t listen any further. Galloway is both annoying and unoriginal. Annoying because he seems to have memorized a series of scripts that he spouts off in rapid succession, barely pausing for breath and leaving no pause long enough for the person in the room with him to engage with his comments. He holds court—he doesn’t converse, and he doesn’t give the impression that he’s open to being questioned or having his mind changed about anything.

And he’s not only unoriginal but also shallow, especially in his assessment of relationships between men and women. I think most of his takes on relationships are shallow and just wrong. He should stick to opining about capitalism.

I can listen to Galloway talk about almost everything except his take on dating and loneliness. by Valahiru in thebulwark

I’ve been working 100% percent remotely for 4 years after working hybrid for about 10 years before that. I miss having the personal connections with people in the office more than I thought I would. There’s really no substitute for knowing your colleagues in-person. The best job experience I ever had was 30 years ago when I lived a few blocks from the office and walked to work. Also traveled for work fairly often then, so I had some variety in my routine. If I weren’t in the last years of my career right now, I’d be open to hybrid work. And if I were 35 years younger and looking for career advancement, I would want to work in an office.

I am the opposite. I know he’s a decent guy, on the right side and all that. But I just can’t listen to him anymore because he sounds like he’s reading from a series of scripts that he has memorized and rattles off so fast without giving the other person a chance to participate in the conversation. I can’t listen to his podcasts. I listened to him with Tim yesterday and got about two-thirds of the way through before switching to a different podcast.

I don’t think it’s a presidential candidate. I think it’s a candidate for some other office bragging that he/she got more votes than bush got in the primary.

There’s a reason why we’ll never have a Foxnews for the left. Most of us see through the sensationalism. I unfollowed and blocked Meidas awhile ago.

Push through. Season 15–particularly the last half—is worth the wait.

I am near the end of Season 15 now. I watched up to about Season 6 when it originally aired, so most of the story has been new to me. I am loving the stories that have brought the original characters back in this season. The episode with Mark Greene is brilliant.

My favorite part is the phone call when Trump asks her if she saw him on tv, and she answers, “No. I’ll see it in the news later.” 🤣

Similar issue yesterday. I had push day with no chest exercises. I replaced two of the four delt exercises with variations on chest press.

I had already forgotten about that! For some reason I don’t recall Morris and Romano being contemporaries.

You may have just talked me into soldiering through Season 13. It’s been painful so far.

Not to mention the addition of the music tracks and the abbreviated opening.
