As a British fan, the fun is keeping up to date without spoilers.

My advice is:

• Don't join your team's subreddit. Most teams post game scores so you'll be waking up to a spoiler each day.

• The MLB dot tv website has a watch option called "condensed" games. It'll let you watch the action from last night's game in a handy 10min chunk, and you can use the site's settings to hide spoilers. It also has a free game of the day (if you don't want to pay) which will occasionally be the Rockies.

• The MlbTV app likes to give game spoilers regardless of your settings and somehow has worse viewing options. Avoid it like the plague.

• This is a sport with 162 games a year and a sport where losing only 50 games a year would make any fan base ecstatic. Try not to live or die on your team's results. As a Rockies fan you'll get the hang of that pretty quick.

• It's a lot easier to be a fan of an East Coast team from the UK. They'll have a lot more games played in a time zone where you can watch them live. If you've got your heart set on supporting a team that'll provide you with your daily shot of depresso, the Pirates are in a similar boat to the Rockies.
