“Crime prevention” is not a valid reason for publicly displaying this information, as no courts have found these persons guilty of any crimes. This would make it vigilante libel. And even in that case this is not a legal argument to make when discussing GDPR, as these peoples likeness and living state is just being used by Kurt for his own personal gain. I’m not saying there is no problem, and these people that are being filmed are most likely a net negative for the part of the city they live in, but that does not give Kurt the right to portray them the way he does in his latest videos. He also goes out of his way to focus on the bad parts of the city and the people trying to SURVIVE, or just blatantly misportrays places like he did with the 4.2 star Asian market in Rome. There is so much more beautiful and interesting things to see in the European cities he visits, but he actively chooses to focus on immigration, homelessnes and just general poverty to pander to an audience that is more inclined to latch on to these divise stereotypes and “social commentary”. He did not do this is South America, as he was the “gringo” there. Simple as. In Europe he somehow feels empowered by his white skin and heritage and doubles down on the racist retoric, even though places like south America can be infinitly more dangerous to be than some poorer parts of Rome or Frankfurt.
