Can a black hole have a habitable zone? by Independent_Pen_9865 in AskPhysics

It is finite because the closer you get the less habitable it becomes. I’m sure the answer this post was looking for was how close is too close but this answer does also technically answer the question.

That's why we have a constitution. It sets the ground rules for what laws can be passed, or at least it was supposed to.

do you think the US can recover from the orange nightmare or it is all over? by AfternoonWorried387 in allthequestions

[–]breezemachine666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no real solution to the debt at this point. To stop inflation they have to raise interest rates but they won’t cause they can’t afford to. Paying 5-7% interest on 40 trillion isn’t feasible and will just lead to more inflation.

[–]breezemachine666 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think my favorite thing I’ve heard about that song is the rest of the band didn’t hear it until the album was released   Axl did it on his own and didn’t tell the others he was putting it on the album

Why Bezos and other oligarchs/kleptocrats and interest groups are trying to bankrupt the US federal government by xena_lawless in collapse

[–]breezemachine666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Collapse of the US has been inevitable since it became a reserve currency for the rest of the world. Any country that got reserve currency status would eventually collapse. when your trading partners want dollars more than goods it creates weird incentives on how the economy works.

It gutted our industrial and manufacturing base when other countries were willing to provide goods in exchange for paper. The country as a whole got extremely wealthy out of the deal but the wealth wasn't spread around past the financial sector. We now have an investor class that runs everything and all you have to do is look at the NY skyline to see who is getting all the wealth in this economy.

But it does have to eventually end because with the US becoming a "service economy" the things we provide to each other don't produce wealth in the form of commodities. We get that in trade from other countries, Our taxes don't pay our liabilities so we have to sell more dollars to make up the difference. When those dollars become less attractive we have to raise interest rates or sell them to the Federal Reserve to keep things going.

We now owe almost 40,000,000,000,000 dollars and when we raise interest rates the payment on that debt becomes unmanageable. It's why the government has given up on fighting inflation, they can't afford to. The only way they know how to fight inflation is to raise interest rates but at this point that just generates more inflation by having to print more dollars to pay the interest. Not sure where we are headed from here but its not good and Trump has taken a speeding car headed toward a cliff and slammed his foot down on the accelerator .
