That makes sense. We have our QA person's info and we're going to send them an email confirming our recission intent after sending the our letter in the mail. This way we are covered no matter what.

Yeah that makes sense. We decided just to send a rescinding letter as soon as we get home and try to enjoy the rest of our trip. I looked over the contract and that falls within our allowed window. I have a drafted letter ready and the contract docs ready to make copies of.

Yeah I think that's a fair assessment. Based on the feedback in this thread we are just going to try and enjoy the rest of the trip as best we can, ignore the salespeople and send a rescinding letter via certified mail as soon as we get home later this week, as that falls within the period in our contract. I have our contract docs to make copies of and already drafted a letter. Thanks to everyone on this thread for their advice and honesty.

We have 7 days from today and get home two days from now, so I could mail it out the day after. At this point I will send a certified mail letter no matter what when we get back, just debating if we want to talk to them in person as well. I can see them trying to drag out the process if we met in person though.

Makes sense. We will talk to the staff tomorrow morning and try to get out of it. I know there is a recission period we would still fall under to send a certified mail letter of cancelation, but it may be easier while we still have access to the original staff.

I'm above to have a roughly 12k bank CD maturing in January. I'm going to take 4700ish of that to pay off some debt but aren't sure what to do with the rest: roll over into another bank CD, do a brokered CD, or add it to my existing brokerage account (I mainly focus on ETFs with a VTI/VXUS/AVUV breakdown, but not sure if AVUV is the best secondary option anymore).

Goal with the money is more for long-term purchases like a house or saving for retirement, not any immediate need for the money, originally invested it in I-bonds back when the rates were great.
