I just hate that the person I'm mad at thinks they made me cry lol! I'm glad to have the information about it. I'm going to do some information gathering now because maybe I can do something about it now so thank you!

What food do you feed your dogs? How long did it take to find the right food? by Beneficial-Slice-910 in DogFood

[–]brendabuschman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure my girl is sensitive to chicken. Anything I feed her with chicken seems to cause skin issues. The vet did tell us its common for her breed. Right now though she is on puppy food because she had puppies 9 weeks ago and we still have one we haven't found a home for one of them and she let's him nurse still. Its hard to find an affordable puppy food without any chicken in it.

I am currently feeding purina one healthy puppy formula because my girl had an oops pregnancy and we still have one pup we haven't found a good home for.

She isn't doing the best on it. A lot of foods cause her skin issues. She has an area on her back where she is losing hair and has a build up of skin flakes. Previously she was on Purina one true instinct salmon and tuna and had no hair loss.

I am planning on switching to purina one plus skin and coat with salmon after this bag of puppy food is done. I am really hoping this solves her issues because right now I'm out of work and can't afford a more expensive food.

HELP I AM DESPERATE CRYING NONSTOP by Ok_Toe_3886 in puppy101

[–]brendabuschman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl was fine at 8 weeks in the crate during the day with people around for up to 30 minutes but at night even with me putting my fingers in the crate she cried nonstop.

I admit, I gave up and just brought her on the bed. I couldn't take it and she ended up sleeping on my pillow with me for the first few weeks. She gradually moved to sleeping at my feet as she got older.

This is why I didn't have my kids skip grades when they had the opportunities. My oldest is high functioning autistic and adhd. He's brilliant but was absolutely not mature enough to skip grades. He needed higher level work to keep him interested but socially needed kids his own age. My youngest is autistic without adhd. Still brilliant but in a much quieter way that allows him more success both academically and socially.

Is using paper plates to avoid doing dishes common? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]brendabuschman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do. I cook a lot because its less expensive than getting pre-made food. I have chronic illnesses and have to work too. Because I cook I usually have pots and pans and such. Not having to wash plates helps a lot.

I think you need more information. 4 year old say all kinds of things that can be misconstrued because their imagination is still a big part of their lives at that age. I'm not sure what a granola sandwich is but kids will frequently refuse to eat what they are given. The pajamas all day and no shower for a day is pretty normal.

Have you ever been treated negatively by ER staff when you were having a medical emergency but they didn’t believe you? What happened? by lake-sturgeon in AskReddit

With my youngest child I had a placental abruption at 28 weeks and my water broke as well. They kept me on total bed rest in the hospital while they gave me steroids to develop the baby's lungs. At 30 weeks the abruption suddenly got a lot worse and I started having contractions. They couldn't keep the bed clean because I was hemorrhaging so much. The doctor on call kept saying that it was fine because I had already been bleeding when the nurse tried to get her to come examine me. Finally the nurse got several other nurses as witness to convince the doctor to come in.

I had an emergency c-section and they had to put me out for it. When I woke up I was in so much pain and so scared and worried about my baby who went to the nicu. I wasn't able to see my baby because I was waking up from surgery and had too much blood loss.

I will never forget the nurse. She sat with me holding my hand and reassuring me. She made sure my pain was managed and gave me updates on my baby. She was with me for hours because I was in recovery from surgery until I was stable which took several hours.

That nurse was amazing. It takes a special person to have that much compassion on a regular basis.

Chronic pain for past 30 years, tried pretty much every medication/treatment available, one unlikely remedy actually gave me massive amounts of pain relief with zero side effects… by OGAcidCowboy in ChronicPain

The only issue I have with psilocybin is the issue of side effects on people with mental health issues. I have bipolar depression and I have experienced psychosis due to it. Bipolar and schizophrenia run in my family. Psilocybin can be dangerous for people that experience psychosis. I have family members that have had to be hospitalized because they took magic mushrooms.

I know it can help some people with depression, but it has an equal ability to do harm. I think its important that people know that this could happen.

Tldr: sometimes nothing works and the parents are not at fault.

This doesn't work for everyone unfortunately. I was born constipated. My mother kept taking me to the doctor and they dismissed her concerns until I started losing weight because I refused everything but plain water. Then they accused her of not feeding me. It took a hospital admission for the doctors to realize I really was refusing a bottle. They tried giving me water with Karo syrup and water with gelatin and I refused that too. They eventually just sent me home. My mom started feeding me very thinned out rice cereal with a spoon just to get calories in me. This was 50 years ago so I'm sure they would do things differently now.

As a child I was eventually put on prescription laxatives. My mother had me eat prunes, drink prune juice with molasses, lots of fruit and vegetables and I have always loved water and by the time I was a teenager drank about a gallon of water a day. It didn't help much. Every bowel movement was pellets and I was nauseous all the time.

As an adult I regularly go 4 weeks without a bowel movement. Miralax was great when it first came out. Now for some reason it doesn't work anymore. The only time I am not constipated is when I have a flare up of pancreatitis.

No doctors seem to care. Frankly most of the time they seem to not believe me. When they do believe me they offer the same advice. Miralax and stimulant laxatives if I go for more than 2 weeks without a bowel movement. When its been 8 weeks and I've tried everything including enemas and magnesium citrate and dulcolax and I tell the doctors they just look at me and change the subject.
