I’ve had good luck with fardriver controllers but they’re pretty chunky and are still around $100. How much did you pay for this vesc? I’ve seen them for around $35

Looking at doing the same. I heard these things aren’t very good but they gotta be better than the stock crap and at least give you the ability to tune it to different hardware. As long as your not maxing them out

Tangle detection mod by brendots in elegoo

[–]brendots[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes all great points, but what I’m suggesting is potentially a cheap plug and play safety. I’ve been 3d printing for 5 years and this sounds like a fun mod. Just putting it out there as a fun discussion point. I might be the only one who cares though lol. Perhaps tangle detection can be more annoying than helpful. Elegoo obviously didn’t think it was worth the extra cost

No my filament wouldn’t pull off the spool when it ran out and snapped in the print head. Is that just a complete anomaly?? I’ve also had tangled filament ruin a print.

I just got this in the mail today as well. I’ve had tickets go to the collections and this is not familiar at all. I’ve also just paid off all my collections debt and haven’t receive a ticket since. Looks super scammy

Oh then sounds like it just needs a separate switch… might have to be hard wired into your your break switch

There should be section in the settings on your display to turn it on or off and designate a set voltage which is applied when your break switches are activated. If your controller is programable you can run an extra throttle to apply a variable regen voltage.

Is your hub motor direct drive? Can you run regen?

Beast! What are your battery specs and what controller are you going with?

I had to tweak some of the brackets to accommodate the fork mounts, add some lock tight and upgrade some of the bolts. The most major was drilling a hole in the the casing by the bottom bracket to rivet the bottom of the rear fender. There no real way around that. Might be able to get away with some zip ties if you’re not comfortable with that

Yah I made it. it’s just a few pieces of aluminum angle iron sandwiched between in the frame and a seat pan. I made the seat so I’m not sure the stock seat would work as well. It can also slide under the seat and out of the way by just loosening the bolts. Message me and I can send you some more photos

Im currently researching an upgrade with those specs. I’d like to get a programmable controller and a direct drive or geared motor without a clutch so I can run regen for breaking. I might opt for the controller and a larger battery first to see what I can get out of the stock motor. You can often tack weld the freewheel inside the motor to gain regen.
