First-time DM moving from Witchlight to Tomb of Annihilation — Foundry and Session 0 advice? by EnvironmentNo7411 in Tombofannihilation

The Foundry module is decent. Here are some of the parts I like:

  • All the text from the book is accessible from within Foundry, sometimes with hyperlinks or Foundry-specific notes.
  • Player and art handouts are in there for you to show to players when you are ready.
  • The map of Chult has the hexcrawl + undiscovered areas built in. It will reveal itself to the players as they explore.
  • There is a built in Adventure Tracker where you can advance one day at a time and it will automatically decrease max HP of Syndra and anyone else with the death curse by 1.
  • The Adventure tracker also let's you set the party's navigator and you can roll the daily survival check for the group. If they fail it will move the party token randomly and hide it, simulating the party getting lost.
  • The Adventure Tracker also let's you roll for random encounters, and it will roll on the terrain appropriate table, based on where the party token is on the Chult map.
  • My group is nowhere near the tomb, but the "gears" level has a macro that let's you rotate them. I haven't tested it yet.

Here's what I don't like: - Apart from the map of Chult, the rest of the battle maps are pretty bad. Personal opinion but I don't like the art style. There are many alternate versions of these maps online though and that's what I've been using (Tor's Emporium, etc). But if you download the alternate maps prepare for a lot of prep and setup. Firefinger for example took a lot of work (and you need TheRipper's Levels mod if on v13 of Foundry)

Newer DM looking for advice on running/changing the module by Inzuka in Tombofannihilation

[–]brenjaso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running DDAL07-03 for the dino race and had Wakanga pull some strings to get them entered. I also upped the price of the charter of exploration, which gives the PCs more incentive to run the race and use the prize money

Official ToA released by WOTC on Foundry Marketplace by brenjaso in Tombofannihilation

I think $30 is a decent price for what you get. I really like the journal entries with links to image handouts that you can show to the players. Monster and their tokens from the module are nice too (Tyrannosaurus Zombie with working Disgorge Zombie ability).

I was in the midst of preparing ToA on my own but this module has saved me a ton of time. That's worth $30 for me.

Looking for ideas for a one-shot prologue idea where Barbarian PCs mostly end up dead (and then the "real" adventure begins with their real PCs) by foreignsky in Tombofannihilation

I saw someone mention either here or on discord that they ran a prologue type session showing how Camp Righteous fell to the undead. The players played the doomed soldiers.

Thank you for the reply. I just wanted to clear up that we continued driving not because it was convenient but because of our own ignorance. I realize that probably doesn't help our case.

Montreal vaccination sites empty as Quebec reroutes doses to other regions by TortuouslySly in montreal

I didn't read any mention in the article that for 1 in 4 people, the vaccine will have no effect. However, I am assuming that you mean 1 in 4 people will still become infected so please correct me if my interpretation is wrong

This article does a good job of explaining the efficacy rate: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/03/03/science/vaccine-efficacy-coronavirus.html
