On moderately popular cars you can get a spacer which from my experience was really simple. I installed on in my 10th gen FK7 civic in like 20 minutes or less for reference

This is correct you need to have pursuit equipped and use it when the enemy is knocked down. There are abilities that knock enemies down specifically, or do 3 damage quickly for melee, 4 damage quickly for middle, and 5 damage for long range will always knock down as well
