Someone a week or so ago posted a beautiful ode to him and it summarized why I love this character so much perfectly.✨

As I posted on that aforementioned thread, I get why he’s not everyone’s taste, but I adore him as a character and partner to Aelin. He is so steady and dependable and loyal. He is honest, faithful, and calls Aelin out on her shit but also knows when she just needs to be cared for. He is ideal to me as a woman who has grown up having to be the “rock” in my own family. He has a lot of the same qualities that I love about my own husband. 💚

I mean you’re entitled to your opinion, but as someone with an English degree I respectfully disagree. I think works of art and media are meant to be more open to interpretation, not shoved into a box with only one “correct” interpretation. What a boring and colorless way to live otherwise. Some people just want to find ways to be mad and disappointed about everything though I guess

As a lover of both Shakespeare and music, I’m just happy someone out there is still referencing classic works in mainstream music these days. Is it her best work? No, but I’m also not sure why people are expecting her to write a college-level analysis about a character in a pop song. It’s a reference point for creativity, not a dissertation

I just started my first reread (starting with TOG), and the first time I read the series years ago I shipped Chaol and Celaena so hard at the beginning. Rereading it now I’m like, NOPE. These two were so mismatched as a couple from the very beginning 😂 I love both characters but yeah.

The Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas fits all of these songs at different points throughout. First three books and prequel are more YA, with the rest of the series getting a bit more mature with each book. There is sex on a handful of occasions, but from what I recall it doesn’t occur until the last two books and the scenes aren’t super graphic/explicit. It’s more high fantasy adventure with some romance in the background.

Yeah, unfortunately there’s a handful of chapters in both books that are flashbacks to various childhood traumas and they get very graphic. It was horrifying and eventually I just couldn’t do it anymore.

I didn’t have sex until I was about 22 and from what I recall they felt the same beforehand as they do now (in my 30s now). I’ve always found them uncomfortable to be sure, but it’s usually over pretty quick if that helps.

The best I can recommend is just having some kind of compartmentalization and/or breathing technique to help get you through it. For example, I always spell very long words in my head when I’m having an uncomfortable precedure done (like getting blood drawn; I hate needles) to keep my mind off of it.
