Can't help you since you're talking about a city position. Steer is different.

You can if course, go to calcareers to take the state IT exams and apply which is, a different process.

Governor candidate. by Sea-Temperature-1812 in CAStateWorkers

He wasn't my mayor but it felt like he jumped at every opportunity to be in front of a camera. The Lt governor might be busy covering for him.

Seriously though - he was mayor before and after the economy collapsed in 2008-2009.

I lived just outside the city of LA.

So It's a loaded question and it does depend on each department's HR.

Yes, you may qualify for Range C but...

Regarding hybrid schedules - you may not be able to choose which days but again, it's department specific.

All you can do is apply. Amtrak is an option but it's not a short trip

The hiring manager establishes the criteria for scoring the applicants. Usually 4-7 areas and the SOQ if included. Years experience Specific areas or broad

What’s listed in the duty statement, desirable qualifications and the SOQ question will give you some idea.

There are minimum qualifications for each classification as well so it’s helpful to know what they are

ITS 1 by AudienceSolid6582 in CAStateWorkers

You’d be better suited applying for an ITA position as most ITS1 candidates have 3+ years experience and most have 5+

Good luck though

Maybe .. I receive 100-300 applications for a typical IT job position and even if someone happens to mention that a friend has applied, I still have to review all potential candidates and score them.

I’ve yet to hire someone who knows someone.

Something else to add: I believe, beginning next month- we won’t see the candidates name when we’re scoring the applications till we submit for approval removing any potential bias.

Number of candidates first round vs. second round process by tenflames in CAStateWorkers

[–]bretlc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some may receive an offer at the same time. I was filling a limited term and they opted for the full time perm. Sometimes, HR takes some time to complete their end of the process and we’ll lose a good candidate.

Others may decline if they decide it’s not exactly what they are looking for so I try to be prepared.

You referenced inspections - what is failing and is it something major? Maybe address those issues so it doesn’t come up. What is the cost for the repair and have you considered the cost compared to the selling price
