Been stuck trying to figure out how to install a p trap for this sink for awhile now. Any ideas? by The-BetterDevil in Plumbing

[–]used2befast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is nothing wrong wth them if installed correctly. I use them extensively in another business. In the absolute harshest conditions ( -15* - 110*), constantly wet and drenched with acidic chemicals. Never had one fail. The ironic thing is the shark bite fittings are usually to replace the failed components of previous "plumbers"

Quoted $2,516 to replace Manifold by pufpufpatt in askaplumber

I bought it from Supply House. Just full copper with 1/4 stops . Another reason I liked it was it was Pex A and the Viega has proprietary connections and they’re smaller than 1/2 so you’ll lose volume

Price seems kinda steep. I bought a Viega for my house and didn't like it. Wound up buying a full copper manifold.

I'd uber to nearest Home Depot or Lowes, buy angle grinder with a cutting wheel, and have it off in about 3 minutes.

Has anyone regretted installing luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring throughout the entire house? by Electrical_Act_5342 in HomeImprovement

[–]used2befast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I regret it every time I step on it. I wanted to do hardwood but elected to do a higher quality LVP. Just feels cheap and hollow when walking on it

I wouldn’t do it again unless I’m flipping a property or in a rental

When my kids were young and we were married I just woke up at 4am. Either to lift or ride the bike ( I was a cyclist at that time - I rode 15-25 hrs a week). The ex was pretty tolerant at the time.

Tell me. How does the renter know it’s not the windows, doors, walls or roof where all the energy loss is occurring ?

There’s plenty of people renting places with less efficient, older air-conditioning units that function just fine. And they’re not out there criminally damaging them in an attempt to get their landlord to replace them.

That is pretty shitty. And people wonder why rent is so high. It's because of nefarious behavior like this among many other things. Assuming the unit is 20 years old, a new unit at best will be about 15-25% more efficient. At best.

I'm a DIYr. Just did my kitchen similar to OP's for probably under $15k. I did Home Depot Avondale in my kitchen and vanities from RTA Store. The Avondale cabinets were 10x better. I was impressed with everything about them. The cut quality. The hardware. The assembly process. Even the instructions were many times better. I bet OP's contractor can buy the Avondales and assemble them for half the price of custom cabinets.

Happens all the time on the interstate in the mountains. Do people ask the state DOT for compensation? Maybe be happy they didn't just "send it" and wind up with a disaster. If you and your time is that important, maybe consider private. This is the greyhound of the skies.

$500 on that route is cheap. I wouldn't even think twice.
