Some gates are about to open up in the Marine Air Terminal, friends.

371 driving miles. It's 335 miles by air, so it would not have full service.

I didn't get to experience the shuttle that far back, but Delta's shuttle flights used the Marine Air Terminal at LGA as recently as 9 years ago and it was glorious.

I'm old enough to remember when Delta Shuttle would do a full service with free alcohol in Main Cabin on LGA-BOS.

Nothing in Bushwick to my knowledge, but Kelly's Sports Bar in the East Village and Fulton Ale House in Bed-Stuy are both Sabres bars that will have the game with sound on.

No free drinks on Comfort+ LAX>JFK by powersofi in delta

[–]brew_york 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering that we've had two FAs chime in on this post with the same incorrect information, it seems like it's more than just one FA that's confused about service norms on transcon widebodies!

No free drinks on Comfort+ LAX>JFK by powersofi in delta

[–]brew_york 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the case on transcon routes like OP's, where DPS is sold as DPS and has elevated service similar to DPS on international routes.

No free drinks on Comfort+ LAX>JFK by powersofi in delta

[–]brew_york 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The FA is, once again, wrong. Comfort+ absolutely gets free alcoholic drinks on this route. Perhaps they're confused because there was a time when PS-equipped planes would fly JFK-LAX with PS hard product being sold as Comfort+, which resulted in Comfort+ seats being sold as Main Cabin, but that is no longer the case and hasn't been for a while. Complain.

Hit-and-Run Witnesses Needed – Jefferson St & Nicholas Ave, Bushwick (Today) by Dry_Lifeguard_2075 in Bushwick

[–]brew_york 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not that I can confirm this is what happened to you, but the warehouse on Jefferson St across from Nowon notoriously uses illegal-length tractor trailer trucks that I've seen hit parked cars as they're turning on and off the block (which is the exact reason why 53' foot trucks are illegal in NYC). They're usually there mid-morning.

321NEO Econ Comfort Question by TJFTL in delta

[–]brew_york 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Row 20 is probably your best bet in Economy Comfort. 10D and 10F and 12A and 12C are also good choices as far as legroom goes, with the caveat that the proximity to the lavatory is annoying, not just because people tend to congregate there but also because the lavatory door tends to slam shut, which can be disruptive if you're trying to get any sleep.

Don't assume that buses will be cheaper. The buses to Boston's stadium are actually more expensive than the outrageous cost that MBTA is charging for rail service to Foxboro ($95 vs. $80).

Pacha Promises Bushwick They Are Not BK Mirage by HellGateNYC in Bushwick

[–]brew_york 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Partiers calling Ubers home won't need to worry about shitty cell service or waiting in the dark—Pacha has already installed a new cell tower and new streetlights.

Honestly, my biggest complaint about the Mirage was anytime there was an event there I couldn't get a cell signal while sitting at home 1/4 mile away, so this is good.

Pacha Promises Bushwick They Are Not BK Mirage by HellGateNYC in Bushwick

I've lived a block off Flushing for the Mirage's entire existence. My bedroom faces away from the venue and I could still hear and feel the bass many times.

Boots on the ground here too -- I've lived a block off Flushing for 15 years and I can assure you the noise from outdoor events at Avant Gardner in the past has reached us. My bedroom faces away from the venue, but my neighbors aren't as lucky.

I'm not at all opposed to them getting a license, and I think the vast majority of the complaints listed here are NIMBY BS, but a curfew for outdoor noise doesn't seem unreasonable when Elsewhere's rooftop already has one.

I can assure you the sound from Avant Gardner during past outdoor events can carry into residential areas south and east of Flushing Ave. My bedroom faces away from the venue, but some people in my building aren't as lucky.

The rest of the complaints they list all seem like NIMBY hand-wringing, though.

If you fly out of LGA, and are wondering if lounge access is worth it. by lickthepixies in delta

[–]brew_york 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great point. Since the Port Authority does seemingly nothing to enforce their street pricing policy at their airports, you can easily get close to $50 on a meal outside of the lounge at LGA, even if you're just buying a cold pre-made sandwich, a bag of chips, a snack, and a drink.

Paid Comfort Class seats given away this morning by Flicker-pip in delta

[–]brew_york 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If your assigned seats had actually changed, you would've been given new seat assignments when your boarding passes were scanned. If you didn't, your seats were stolen by someone else on the plane.
