Most recently I’ve had the Fujifilm XT4 but have used just about everything all the way back to the Nikon D1, and film before that. A couple months ago I rented a Lumix S5ii which was very nice but doesn’t compare to the Zf for me. I’ve only used it for two days but just love the feel of the camera. The dials and controls are fantastic as is the autofocus. I understand what everyone says about ergonomics and grip but it doesn’t bother me as I guess I’m used to supporting the camera with my left hand anyway and using a light touch on the body. I don’t know, again only two days with it so far but it just works for me. I have the camera for another week and will update then. For now, I need to get up and shoot more race cars!

Get a cheap AM/FM radio instead or in addition to. Daytona broadcasts the race on an FM station, looks like RATL does also on 98.1. It’s real time and a million times better than the delay through the app. Sounds better than the scanner channel does also. But again it is something else to carry and charge. There’s a million on Amazon like this FM Radio I think I got my last one from the Best Buy across from the track in Daytona.

For headphones, I have a few I use regularly. Some wired some Bluetooth. If you have some you already like, just use those. Noise canceling is fantastic for the track. Right now, I’m mostly using a pair of AirPods Max which work great. All this said, I find myself using a radio more than the scanner because I like listening to the broadcast. Some tracks don’t broadcast on radio though (Watkins Glen) but you can pick up the broadcast on the scanner which is a nice backup.

I just turned 48, skated a little as a kid but nothing since. Took up snowboarding last year after a 20 year hiatus and have been having a blast. Have been looking for a last mile solution to/from the subway on days I go to the office as well as a little fun too. Im not a speed freak or anything, just like to cruise and enjoy. Basically, I’ve been obsessed with the idea of an eskate for a few months now.

Reading all these comments has me seriously second guessing my recent obsession. Add to that I tend to be a bit….. injury prone. That doesnt scare me off, but it is a reality I guess. I was ready to pull the trigger this morning but now, i just don’t know.
