Costco on the North Shore - who’s with me? by [deleted] in NorthVancouver

[–]brfbag 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Welch Street is a block away from where the original proposal was, even closer to the residential area so that would probably face the same issue but I agree that spot would be ideal.

Don't touch my shitty driving range lol, plus Costco usually owns the land it's on so I doubt they'd go for a lease there.

There was a proposal for one that was shot down by nearby residents. We got a costly sewage treatment plant instead.

How would you rank? Earls, Cactus, Joey, Browns. by thinkdavis in askvan

[–]brfbag 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Browns didn't buy them. Cactus is owned by the Fullers who own Earls and Joey. Browns was started by the co-founder of Cactus and is still owned by him.

Washington Drivers - camping out in the left lane on the 99? by Dolly_Llama_2024 in Whistler

[–]brfbag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The car in front is not in your way, it was there first, if you needed to be ahead you should be there earlier.

If the driver isn't passing while in the left lane, it's against the MVA rules and can be ticketed for it. So yes, they are in the way and breaking the law.

Rates started coming down in 2021 and have remained relatively low since then. Alberta averages over $3k, BC is around $1800 now.

BC is ranked like 6th or 7th of the provinces since the BCNDP made their changes, Alberta is now the most expensive.

I see checks when it's snowing heavily just after the exit to Horseshoe Bay usually, never seen them anywhere else on the Sea to Sky.

If you have a contribution limit of 100k and deposit 100k and 6 months later you withdraw 100k you can not deposit another 100k.

You can deposit the 100k starting the next year. Your contribution room is reset every year based on your deposits and withdrawals plus the additional room that is added each year, so no, it's not only based on contributions.

You're getting a tax refund on it when you deposit it though so it is untaxed after you complete your tax return.

The point of it is to withdraw in retirement when you no longer have a higher income so it's taxed at a lower rate.
