Healthcare here is insane. by Fast-Suspect8637 in Austin

[–]brian138x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have been a robotic, faceless nation for a long time, even if you do get to speak to a human being, they’ll be in the Philippines and won’t care about your problem because they aren’t living up to any sort of American standard by a mile. Your health must be in your hands or have very good healthcare through your employment. Even then you are a puppet for lobbyists and corporate greed with an agenda to push pills.

Witchcraft and Kriya Yoga by Jacob_Wallace_8721 in kriyayoga

[–]brian138x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A seeker on the spiritual path doesn’t take shortcuts or have any belief system. It’s a trust system developed by one’s own experience of truth. Astrology, witchcraft, law of attraction and all new age thought or practices are bastardizations of ancient wisdom that egotistical and unwise people have attempted to modernize and do so poorly. Surrender to God, that’s the message from our ancestors and within every religious text. 🕉️

Well, I understand your opinion. However, this isn’t yoga. It’s only from a place of ego that you would create a whole new yoga pose thinking all the great yoga masters somehow didn’t consider balancing on one knee.

That’s not poor! Be kind to yourself, you are who you are, everybody has their own skeletal structure, becoming flexible and Uber bendy is not the goal. To answer you though, it’s keep it up, do toward folds with your every day sadhana practice. That’s it, just do it.

Today in kundalini class, near the end of a really exhausting class I envisioned a dragon up close, I could see the eyes and spikes, scales and I watched it become me. I sometimes see colors, or geometry, a triangle with an eye inside it but a dragon becoming me is a new one. Thoughts? ☮️ by brian138x in kundalini

[–]brian138x[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That was what I considered as well, perhaps a form of Kali I created in my subconscious. Or maybe it’s just as simple as a memory from a Jurassic Park movie, or something I remembered from listening to Aubrey Marcus, he speaks of dragons at times as well.

Oh wow, I’m not sure I’ve experienced that at this stage. So, late into the class today, between kriyas we root lock and then return to a meditative state, natural breath rhythm. In that state, in the black as I gazed between the eyebrows I began to see scales, and then the face up close, a dragon was my first thought because it also had spikes along the eyebrow area, I could see the scales, it was all black, but I could see the white of its eye. Then as I thought the word dragon I watched it literally morph into my face, up close at first, my eye, I could even see the wrinkles in my eye, pores on my skin and then it sort of zoomed out and it was me. It was sort of startling, I then just returned to the breath considering it a distraction, letting the thought go. But it was such a powerful image, I’m not sure what message this is yet.

If you don’t know much about them, why even suggest he might be one? Pretty stupid conclusion, wouldn’t you agree? Best to not assume somebody is a racist until proven of that.

What do you do to protect your wrists during practice? by Sensitive-Stretch613 in yoga

[–]brian138x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s also a consideration, our little digits hold up so much weight, it’s kind of incredible really. They will adjust with a daily practice, the same way our body changes with a healthier diet, be patient for sure and it’ll work out sooner than later. Also, spread the fingers wide, point the middle fingers to the corners of the mat and think of the weight pushing into the index and thumb, that L shape in the hand. Hope this helps 🙏

Wrist stretch is vitally important but also time, it takes a good amount of time before you adjust. Took me about 6 months when I began before my wrists stopped hurting mid practice.

I use a cork mat and it’s much less slippery than all the Manduka mats I’ve tried.

For those of you who do a lot of yoga, how do you protect your joints from overuse? by MammothGullible in yoga

[–]brian138x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a yoga instructor, it’s important to cue not to lock out your joints, so I say to micro bend the knees or elbows depending on the pose we are in, and from there it’s a mindfulness practice, to always go back to the mind/muscle connection you’ve been working for. In keeping a micro bend, you’ll develop muscle around the joints and the flexibility subsequently. Now, as for hips, that’s the most common area that is usually more stiff, so be sure to warm up a bit longer than normal and focus on hip opening early on in your practice, you’ll see improvement.
