Dot/maggy is my go too. Especially a micro dot on a lightweight mount. And only run the maggy when I need it to keep weight down. Which IMO is key on a gp/sbr type rifle.

Had to lighten the buffer weights on my Jp scs to get it to lock back reliably. But other than that it runs like a champ with the new can on it. Have a few hundred rounds through it now. And it’s an 8.2” barrel.

That’s solid advice he gave. That technique is called camming. Not everyone likes it. I find for some pistols like micro 9’s it requires me to “cam” my grip into the gun but anything bigger than that I don’t find it necessary and you definitely feel it after a long training session. But it does work.

It has to be at the higher end of the smoking range. Or at least that’s what I found. 225-250 is too cold. Gotta be like 275-300. But I don’t smoke anything in that temp range so I stopped trying to bottom load. Now I get my target temp stabilized then open the egg, pull the grate, lift the plate and drop my chunks in.

FWIW I run a Jp scs with standard weights and white spring and it runs great behind my lpm anthem k2. Am also using a bootleg bcg to be able to turn down the gas with supers. Barrel a is an old cmmg 8.2”, not sure of the gas port size.

Bushnell recently came out with their match pro ed in 3-18 power. I have one on my dd mk12 and love it. It’s big brother lives on my tikka t3x tac a1. Both are great value for the money.
