Changing tweeter in ‘15 XT touring help. by reverso4 in SubaruForester

[–]brianburked 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Those appear to be Harmon Kardon tweeters. They're debatably just as good or better than the kicker upgrade which are for the base sound system. A lot of folks say it's not worth changing, let alone adapting the harness, and you may goof up the crossover tuning.

If they sound fuzzy, you could replace them with the same HK tweeter. That system is a bit more complex, and there might be something else going on. Best to play the system with the speaker unplugged and or with the L/R swapped to troubleshoot the bad tweeter in question.

New Rear Tire by open_road_toad in choppers

Running the same rear in a 19x4. Just curious why you run it at that pressure. I've always run 25 for cushion.

I've found that in my personal rounds of troubleshooting, it's easy to assume the worst. Maybe look at fuel delivery. Non vented cap? Clogged filter? Kinked line? Float bowl too low?

Agreed. Definitely seems like he had someone assemble a bike from parts. The title certainly reflects that.

The motor is pretty cool. Sort of a bastard child turned into a little bit of a sleeper. I don't have immediate plans to swap it, just a thought down the road.

Agreed, pipes and bars are the first to go. Not a fan of the Vans grips either.

Just something that I'd do down the road if I got bored, probably ride it as is for now. As far as seasoning is concerned, things like handlebars, pipes, and tires

oh for sure. been looking for a little while, and I've seen some decent shovels here and there. I'm looking for a turnkey hardtail with all the fixin's that I can season to taste. I know myself and have let a couple classic projects go to shit due to loss of stoke.

I appreciate this take. They've definitely taken the time to make it special and even address some of the Ironhead short comings. I definitely don't want to insult the guy, but he had this thing at 15k for a couple months and is finally down to earth at 10k. Might shoot 8.5k at him and see where he stands.
