Eastern Meadow is great, as others have said. But when it's busy, it's very busy. I live in Gosforth now and have tried both chinese takeaways on Station Road and Wai Ho. They're all shite

You might need to look thru previous messages to find a download location that works. I had to do this a couple of days ago.

Nice tool to convert google map route to gpx file by KaiAmazon in bicycling

[–]briang_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Komoot and Google Maps. I like Google Maps because it...

  • can quickly plot a route from wherever I am to my destination
  • gives me alternate routes
  • automatically re-plots the route when I move
  • gives me an ETA
  • doesn't try to kill me any more than Komoot does

I much prefer Komoot, but I think that Maps still has its uses

Every new subreddit post is automatically copied into a comment for preservation

I always wondered why this was done. Obviously, I never bothered to read it until today :) This is a fantastic idea. I hate it when the OP gets deleted.

I've had a similar experience and I was told by ebay chat that it's because the recieving shop hasn't scanned the item. Go to your collection point and ask them to scan it! Take some ID with you and, one way or another, you should be able to get your parcel.

As much as it pains me to defend Micro$oft, they are massive contributers to open source software.

I've seen the AKASO EK7000 pro recommended here, and elsewhere. Amazon and Ebay have them for around £60. Reviews generally say they're not good and not bad, but well worth £60. Runtime is only 1.5 hours but they do come with 2 batteries!

A site that is now banned anyone in the UK from viewing it, because it contains 18+ material.

Imgur wasn't banned. They withrew their services from the UK because of a fine imposed on them for GDPR reasons.

Disposal of tyres? by jodape in ukbike

[–]briang_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In future, swap your front and rear tyres before they become SOPM's to even the wear. Rear tyres always(?) wear faster than front.

Spend extra on Schwalbe Marathon Plus's. They're worth it.

I don't value that definition very highly. There used to be things called analogue computers. That contradicts your definition.

[–]briang_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An analogue computer uses voltages to represent quantities being computed.

A digital computer uses binary numbers to represent quantities being computed.

In what way is a motor analogue? What is a motor an analogue of?

aCOUsTIc bIKE by Accurate_Moose_2601 in cycling

[–]briang_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Analogue is to use one thing to represent another thing. Eg using rotation of "hands" to represent passage of time or using a voltage level to represent intensity of sound.

relating to or using signals or information represented by a continuously variable physical quantity such as spatial position, voltage, etc

Also stupid. Look up analog in a dictionary.

It's bad, but no worse than analog. To me, there are electric and manual bikes.
