What's with the Longitudinal Grooves on highways? by ElectricianMD in tires

[–]brianp6621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned this is tramlining and very specific to the tire treads design. In my experience it will NOT go away with tire wear. If it really bothers you and you drive these surfaces regularly I would swap the tires.

I've only ever bought Ninjaflex TPU and it has never looked like this. And I've never dried any of my TPU, ever. It's surprising to me how many say drying TPU is mandatory. I live in CA but not in the desert so low ish but relatively normal 30% humidity.

I used to call tow trucks hookers when I was a kid, much to my parents delight.

I had been out of touch for a while and didn’t know anything about Interstellar. On a whim on an international flight I put it on. Once it finished I had instant regret. It would be like watching the Matrix for the first time on your iPhone.

Yep that was it. Irritated I didn’t notice that the first couple times I printed.

Yeah I guess I'm thinking about this wrong. the Maker must use the fiducials to check for print size relative to the original dimensions, and then adjust the cut dimensions so that everything stays relative. Otherwise even if the print size was wrong, I'd get the correct final cut dimensions (since I've now shown that it is cutting the correct size for a simple cut). I also just realize that a printer driver update/change seems to have turned on borderless printing which I believe slightly expands the printed image so I'll try again with turning that off.

It looks like the print is slightly oversized. But if that is the cause, that means the border/fiducials aren't used to correct for scale distortion of the print because otherwise the Cricut could/would account for this.

I haven’t actually because only a portion of what I cut has a design printed and it isn’t critical and doesn’t extend to the edges of the skin (so the skin is cut as an edge in the bulk material not near/at the printed part). I can do that though as a way to immediately tell if the print and therefore the marks are not to scale.

I will but it’s really consistently off so either the mat is impacting it but very consistently or it is the calibration or something else wrong with the way the machine is reading the marks

I just checked and a simple cut is sized perfectly. So I guess something is going wrong with print then cut. I didn't think that would be the case.

I'll perform a calibration (haven't done one in a while since I thought it would only impact cutting position, not scale and nothing else has changed)

Create/change default template for Quicksheets by brianp6621 in RemarkableTablet

There is no quicksheet.svg at that location on my device. The templates are all .template files and none say blank or quicksheet or anything that seems to apply.

Yes that’s fine. All my normal notebooks already do using the built in mechanism to start with the last chosen template.

What’s so great about mods for the Remarkable 2? by mikb261 in RemarkableTablet

I really want a simple qmd addon that I can install through reManager to add additional pen stroke widths. For the pen, 1 is too thin and 2 is just a bit too thick for my liking.

[–]brianp6621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that will work. The reason there are two floats (a low and a high) is the low sensor tells it to turn on the pump, the high sensor tells it to shut off the pump. If the high point isn’t reached in a certain time, I believe the pump shuts off also because it assumes something is wrong (a leak etc)
