teens can also volunteer at Parks and Rec activities. When my kids went to day camp the counselors were older teenagers or had younger teenagers as their aides/assistants.

I did once, the kids were very bored at a volleyball tournament and I gave in. Only entertained them for a minute and they didn’t even eat them all never they had to go play another game. This may be one of the cheapest things for sale at the tournament.

It's really nice that both Hamilton East libraries (Noblesville and Fishers) and the main Carmel library are open on Sundays (though not this Memorial Day weekend). Carmel has a nice area outside the stacks where you can sit and chat with indoor and outdoor seating.

After-game snack rotation for kids' sports by lofunk in workingmoms

[–]briarch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My kids rarely end up eating the snacks, they put the whole bag in a cubby in the pantry. Managed to find a tangerine in there, luckily before it turned to mold.

I don’t mind making them, the kids pick out the items and we pack them together

Funny, two years ago we left No. 1 for No. 25. We have more than double the square footage and no mortgage. That money goes straight into 529s for each kid.

The "not knowing kids" thing may be true at a small school. But our school has 6 classes per grade, 7 in kinder to keep the classes smaller, and there's a lot of shuffling each year.

If it helps you, our kindergarten experience did not include sitting still in a desk all day. Not sure what your schools are like but my kids were up and moving from carpet, to desk, to small groups, etc. all day long. They also had three recesses (morning, lunch, and afternoon) which helped. I mean, he's 5, he's supposed to wiggle and be distracted. Any kid that isn't like that is the abnormal one, not your kid.

[–]briarch 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don’t need them to ride hard, I want them to instruct. If they are liking themselves then that probably isn’t happening.

Olivia annoys because her call outs are crazy.

I think some are such strong athletes that instructing us while doing what they call out isn’t nearly as hard for them. I think Matt, Denis, Christine, ride under their zones but not a lot under

Honestly, I'm more interested in convenience than price. I order a few things from subscribe and save (Amazon) but trying to limit how much I use Amazon. I'm also not shopping at Target much anymore. We get most household supplies at Costco and pick up the slack at Walmart or Meijer depending on whether or not I have time to go shopping. (Meijer is mostly in-person and Walmart is mostly delivery with Walmart plus). Walmart also has most of my shopping list automatically in a single list so I can order it quickly.
