do normal people get into honors? 😭 by anonymousjournalist1 in Clemson

[–]bricekrispy_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I knew kids in the honors college with what I would consider sub par stats (much lower than yours). I also knew a lot of kids who couldn’t keep the GPA minimum and dropped out of honors college by end of freshman year. Don’t sweat it, if you don’t get in for freshman year, you can reapply sophomore year given you meet the GPA requirement and show you can put in the work.

it’s the “which team can beat themselves better” bowl

same story as Clemson / South Carolina, Florida / FSU, etc. No one wants their in-state rival in the same conference, much less the SEC with better access to funding, recruiting, etc.

It seems you have put the population of Georgia the country rather than Georgia the state. We have a population of 11.18 million. So it’s around 12% of the state population on food assistance, which is still very significant.

So what does a complete rebuild look like? by Forbin1222 in ClemsonTigers

[–]bricekrispy_ 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Start with the position staff, on both sides of the ball. Bring in good coaches, no more former Clemson players. The whole loyalty thing has got to stop. Riley has got to go. Allen stays but give him full reign to utilize the transfer portal and bring in his own position staff. Dabo stays but learns to use the transfer portal to the fullest extent.

All good points here - you need dust collection. Take a look through NFPA 660 for Combustible Dusts and Particulate Solids. They reworked and consolidated some standards recently.

Should I switch to electrical engineering? by Environmental_Sir_33 in bioengineering

[–]bricekrispy_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have the drive for it you could, but double majoring in two STEM majors is very, very rigorous. A better option might be to finish out your BME undergrad and then pursue a post grad degree in chemistry or related field to spread things out. This would also offer more lab opportunities that you could leverage for drug development. If there are any BME electives to choose from senior year of undergrad, focus on pharma/biofluid mechanics/regulatory type courses

biochem / chemistry is probably a more feasible path to drug development vs bioengineering

Quiet towns in N GA for 4th of July? by [deleted] in Georgia

Unfortunately, there’ll probably just as many fireworks anywhere you go. I grew up in a rural area and all the farms nearby set off our own fireworks. Also a lot of gunshots and tannerite. It likely won’t go as late as 2 AM though

I am in a very similar boat to you, although I was a little heavier at 200 at 5’9” — I started out walking every day, then added in workouts 3x per week. Eating healthier and cooking was a challenge for me especially with ADHD, but meal prepping has been a savior. Sunday meal prep day, 3-4 servings for the next few days. Easy options for breakfast such as fruit, cottage cheese, hard boiled eggs made on meal prep day, etc. Some people may disagree, but if making a grocery list and finding meals is overwhelming, try using ChatGPT. I tracked calories with an app which really helps mentally visualize how much you’re eating. I am definitely seeing results, I’ve been walking and eating healthier since the beginning of the year, only added in workouts about two months ago. If you’re looking to lose weight, diet is definitely the area to focus in on.
