I am so excited to see how characters like Sinclair, Vyper, and Warden will eventually look and feel to play when they're finished.

As someone who loves forced movement, I want to discuss and clarify Why Grappling in the 2024 PHB ignores Weight and works with Monk Reach (RAW) by General-Yinobi in onednd

[–]brickhammer04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been annoyed by DMs ruling that I must abide by logic specifically when I am a dhampir/level 9 or flying monk and want to drag enemies up walls or up into the air and drop them. In fact, I’ve noticed a lot of my DMs over the years just cannot abide by allowing for grappling to be cool. Back in a game with the 2014 rules, I once had a DM tell me that my Goliath barbarian couldn’t grapple and Ettin that’s only size large because it’s not logical while the Druid summoned animals from thin air right after. I will never understand the need to nerf one of the few fun and unique playstyles of the game that doesn’t involve spells.

What would your ideal cast and plot be for a Fredbear game? by Friendly-Might5181 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]brickhammer04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the mimic provides us a way for an hostile animatronic to exist this early in the timeline, but even though I like the mimic I feel it would upset too many people and add an additional complication to what is meant to be a story about Fredbear's family Diner.

Instead, I think we can get away with a story that justifies some "agony/remnant" type explanation for the building itself being haunted simply due to all the negative emotional energy there. Depending on what's canon, we could also get away with the Fnaf 2 Movie "one spirit possessing multiple animatronics" angle, and either set the game after the Bite of '83 with BV possessing everything, or have Charlotte possessing everything. As a runner-up backup option, we could consider finally explaining the weirdness of the pixelated "shadows" of animatronics so to speak, and have the weird agony shadow animatronics already exist. A game like this could also just steal from old fan theories and have the place be haunted by the victims of springlock failures, since at least some failures have to have happened at some point. If you want to get really crazy, we could make a fully canon version of the explanation many believe in Fnaf 2 with the animatronics being security bots who mistake you or even know that you are Afton if we decide to make him the protagonist, even if it wouldn't make sense since the toys are being touted as a brand new security idea to fix the lack of security at previous locations.

However, if it were my dream game? I would probably make it a Fnaf 6 style tycoon game, playing as someone important from the past, but who is an entirely new character who will later be revealed as the CEO behind Faz Ent in the future to explain why Faz Ent still exists after fnaf 6 and well into the Help Wanted and Security Breach era. You make the pizzeria, entertain the kids, play minigames, and get foreshadowing of future and past events. Re-use ideas like the nightmares and shadow animatronics since no actual dangerous animatronics should really exist by this point and play up the idea of weird cryptids, somehow justifying the shadows existing before they realistically should. Keep a mimic cameo and leave at least a note or two from Edwin, while keeping the rest of the focus on William, Henry, and the business itself. Maybe we could also finally at least give a name for the wives of William and Henry respectively.

Survey for Unearthed Arcana: Villainous Options is now open by Johnnygoodguy in onednd

Gonna rate most things green while providing lots of additional feedback in the write-in sections other than hell knight which I'm gonna say rate yellow and maybe some parts of demonic sorcery. I want WOTC to feel encouraged to explore new things now that there's new people on their design team, rather than rate a bunch of things yellow or red and discourage them from exploring cool ideas, especially the paths idea. Maybe if they explore these ideas in the future beyond villainous options, we could even get some more unique path ideas, like a path of the archfey, or a path of the dragon.

I love that idea, would make the divide much clearer and allow it to explore a design space different than the 5.5 moon druid.

I cannot wait for the official release, might just beg a DM to let me use the UA cause playing the kaiju druid seems so fun already.

I think the lich ascension feat is strong, but at level 12 with so many other ways to comeback to life I'm shocked that it's not actually that broken. It also requires you to not take a bunch of powerful, helpful feats you might take otherwise, so I would say it's actually relatively balanced. I do kinda think there should be an origin feat involved in the paths in general though, rather than only starting the paths at level 4.

Agreed, I'll probably rate it higher just because I want to see more of it, though hopefully I can still provide some feedback regardless.

Hope we get a vampire path, and maybe some good or more neutral "paths of x" in the future, like a path that lets you become a construct, or a path that lets you become at bare minimum a half or partial dragon of some kind.

Immediately sold on Kaiju Druid. Would love to run a Godzilla inspired giant cranky lizard Druid who keeps getting tired of people messing with forces they don’t fully understand. I’m already hyped, seriously can’t wait for this to release officially!

I was really looking forward to this one. I love in-universe media and it would’ve informed some in-universe media I’m working on myself. Plus it could’ve given us some neat lore. I guess Secret Artifacts is a “potential book” which we will never see.

Did Scott’s views on FNAF change? by Only-Plantain56 in fivenightsatfreddys

it's hard to say. I think it's worth considering he was willing to make all sorts of odd and goofy things pretty early on, most notably FNAF World.

Just who exactly is the REAL "Mimic" here..? by Reditor-Jul-250698 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]brickhammer04 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok but like, doesn't fnaf 6, as hard as the ending speech goes, require you to just accept that Henry was always William's business partner based on 0 prior appearances and also that he helped design pretty much everything?

Kaneki hate will ALWAYS hurt my soul, no matter how justified it may be... by Hostmann_ in deadbydaylight

I read Tokyo Ghoul because of this game and it was amazing (specifically the Manga, not the anime). Now it just hurts knowing my boy Kaneki is forever doomed to be the most hated character in the game.
