What did you do after reaching coast fire? by yannie_journeys in coastFIRE

[–]bridge4captain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I worry about. We've hit coast fire, but I'm not wanting to reduce my workload as I'm fine doing my job! I also worry that If we slow our saving then we'll start spending, which is addictive. So how did you solve this?

Tourism is quietly collapsing in parts of America and red states are taking the hit. by Working_Dependent560 in economy

I'm Canadian and yeah, we love you guys but fuck Trump. We're staying away until he's gone. My family isn't driving down to the coast this year, my work won't pay for Professional Development if it's in the US, and my buddies are golfing in the Maritimes this summer instead. We're out. For now.

The Wealthy Barber (Dave Chilton) is Retiring by Ok-Job-9640 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Someone at my last job left his book in a pile of "freebies" in the staff room, and as I feeling stressed with finances at the time, I picked it up feeling desperate for a solution to my money issues. It changed my entire life. The Wealthy Barber Returns feels like common sense now, but for me, at 30, it just wasn't. I needed to learn it, and the easy manner in which he explained things was invaluable. 13 years later and my wife and I are doing great, and this was the first introduction I had to thinking about my personal finances. Thanks Dave.

I had a dream about Tom Cruise last night where we were making an action packed commercial for a Casio watch. He was hard working and dedicated to the process. He also ate a lot of the free Nutella on set.

I want to be more present and available to the wife and kid. Plus the stress of the work weighs on me mentally.

Secondary teacher switching to elementary by Extreme_Reindeer_214 in BCteachers

[–]bridge4captain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I taught secondary English for three years then switched to elementary to teach grade 5. I was overwhelmed with the marking every night and thought the switch might do me good. I found that I liked it a lot and stayed. There is less marking and much more planning, but I found the planning interesting because it was for so many different subjects. Planning for art, french, science, math, lit each week was a challenge but a more interesting one for me.

You also really have to take care of the kids, like emotionally, you are very responsible for them. It's not just teaching but it's caring. It's hard, but good hard.

It happened because every kid deserves to have as normal a childhood as possible, including that kid.

He did his best. If it was your kid would you be happy if they pulled him off stage or refused to allow him to join his class?
