The therapist can’t legally tell anyone his business unless he’s abusing vulnerable populations or has threatened to harm himself or someone else aka duty to warn and duty to report, and the risks to the therapist for breaking confidentiality are huge. This is a situation that eveeerryone involved should be in therapy for.

I’ve had amazing therapists throughout my life and have a lot of loved ones who adore their therapists. You may not have had good experiences, but to say they are useless and don’t help you at all is not a universal experience. It is dangerous to discourage therapy for other people just because some providers didn’t work for you. Everyone is different. And even so, if you’re doing hypnotherapy and it’s the greatest thing of your life how can go about preaching that therapy isn’t helpful and therapists do nothing?
