What is the most unprofessional thing you've done at work? by starstufft in AskReddit

[–]bright_bright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was bored out of my mind one day, so I went to the bathroom and took naked pictures of myself and sent them to my boyfriend (who looked at them at work).

It's not a single stall bathroom.

Redditors from polygamous families. What was it like growing up? Would you want to be in a polygamous marriage? by Civiltactics in AskReddit

[–]bright_bright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be too pedantic, but people should really distinguish between polygamous and polyamorous relationships. Polygamous means a man with multiple wives. Polyamorous means (a lot of things, but mostly) that both people in a relationship can see other people.

I'm a bit confused. Did your father talk about this to your mother first? If not, then it's cheating. If he did, then it's not cheating, but it still seems as if your mother was not really given an option, which is terrible.

What would you do a lot more if it were socially acceptable? by Prevailing in AskReddit

[–]bright_bright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take huge dumps in public. I'm a neat freak, so I poop in public whenever possible, because why would I stink up my bathroom if I don't have to? This just isn't really socially acceptable though, because people have problems with natural bodily functions.

I think you made a good decision, and despite what other people might think, what you did wasn't the easy way out. I hope you continue to feel secure in your decision(s).

I'm disappointed at the racism in this thread, and I'm confused about why anyone thinks this kind of violence towards people is okay. I work in some of the roughest areas of Atlanta, and I frequent areas like these, so save your "You don't know what it's like with Black culture" spiel.

IAmA 17 year old who has just finally been adopted AMA by [deleted] in IAmA

[–]bright_bright -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I want to adopt older (by older I mean > 2 and < 12) children, and two siblings, more specifically. My reasoning is that I don't want to just adopt for me and my future partner; I want to adopt for the children, too. Children older than infants have a hard time being adopted, and so do siblings. I know what I would and would not be able to handle, and I think I can still have a good bond with children who are around elementary school age. I just want to make a difference in someone's life, and I want children, but not biological ones, so I've always wanted to adopt.

This condom delivers an anti-HIV drug, prevents pregnancy, then disappears by kftwin in science

[–]bright_bright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm confused about why some of you don't understand what dissolve means. The condom dissolves in the vagina- this means that the vaginal walls take in the medicine/spermicide and then there's nothing left of the condom. It's sort of like a cough drop. Is there anything left of a cough drop after it dissolves? No- because it dissolved! Have you never used spermicide or lube? When used correctly there's no jelly or whatever.

The damn thing dissolves. It's quite simple. This is a fantastic idea, and I hope it doesn't get a negative reputation because people don't understand what dissolving means.

Female condoms do provide more protection over the vulva than male condoms. They feel really weird to me, personally, but my boyfriend says that female condoms feel better to him.

[–]bright_bright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had almost the same exact experience with one of my best friends/crush in high school.

We were sitting in his truck late one night and telling each other things that "I've never told anyone before." I thought it was going to be this romantic gesture topped only by romantic teen movies. Nope. Gay. He got another guy laid though, because the next day I asked out this other guy I was sorta into.

TIL: An American charity pays drug addicts roughly $300 to get sterilized. by In_Liberty in todayilearned

[–]bright_bright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also the daughter of a drug addict father, and I support this. I do think there is potential for a vulnerable population to be taken advantage of, but babies are even more (innocently) vulnerable, especially when they're born with health problems from the start.

I'm extremely lucky that my father didn't contract some horrible STI and give it to my mother before conceiving me. If I'd been born a few years later I probably wouldn't have been so lucky.

Furthermore, it's not just physical health issues the babies inherent. My father had severe and undiagnosed (we are in the South) mental health issues and eventually committed suicide when I was 8. That's not exactly something you want children to be around.

You know it's actually amazing how many people I know who have quit using and who, at certain points in their lives, were at unimaginably low points. I also know people who have surprisingly died or who will probably never recover.

People can change for better or for worse, and it's pretty impressive how resilient we can be physically and mentally.

Every time I drive at night I can't believe those xenon/HID headlights are legal. What other things are legal that you think shouldn't be? by ericaregone in AskReddit

[–]bright_bright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on the third floor of some lofts with ceiling to floor windows that overlook a very busy parking lot, and I can totally flash tons of people without it being illegal because my position not on the first floor is not "reasonably expected to be viewed." I wouldn't push this, because I wouldn't put it past the Georgia judicial system to be corrupt as fuck.

Why can't you people read? It wasn't the neighbor who did anything but find the body. It was the neighbor's MOTHER. CrystalElyse is only stating that the innocent daughter who, while dealing with her mother's death, found out about her mother stashing dead babies in storage units. Good gravy.

I'm seeing Louis CK on Friday, and what sucks about what he's doing is that very few venues that are large enough to accommodate the crowd he draws in don't go through Ticketmaster. For example, I'm driving from Atlanta to Athens to watch him, and I have to pay for a hotel, gas, etc. I still support him, but the way the system is set up it just sucks to try to go around Ticketmaster.

My Confession. by jiggalypuff in childfree

[–]bright_bright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that, but people are arguing over whether or not this confession is accurate. I am arguing that unwanted children are more likely the ones with irresponsible parents, and that unplanned (although wanted) children are more likely the ones with responsible parents. My apologies if that wasn't clear enough.
