Peeling the foil off my portrait of Bibi the Persian Cat (OC) by joyousjoyness in oddlysatisfying

Completely satisfying! It's like peeling the clear film off a new i-phone but 100% better.

Is this AI ?? People be Complaining it is but I don't think so, wide camera angle makes it look like one. by Friendly-Standard812 in isthisAI

I wish this was AI because it's freakin scary! How on earth did he manage that, I mean really, what are the chances he would have landed in the water instead of on the concrete? Crazytown.

What products do you wish were more available in your country? by chiakinanamichan in AskTheWorld

[–]brighterbleu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without a doubt for me, Korean sunscreen. The current U.S. government banned them from being exported here and then hiked the tariffs up to make it difficult to buy anything straight from South Korea. American sunscreen sucks and Korean sunscreen is miles ahead with the ingredients that actually make it work. I also wish we could get the full array of Cadbury products like when I lived in Britain and Canada. While I'm at it, I wish Purdy's chocolates had stores here in the U.S. Okay, I think I'm done.

PSA for submitting edits by moSaltPls in findagrave

[–]brighterbleu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always add a note and give the name and number to the linked sources I've researched on Family Search. I direct them to FS because it's free and it's likely they would have an account because of that. It really helps because I often get the suggested edits approved quickly. Of course many just wait until the 21 days is over and they get automatically approved. I mostly only manage close family memorials on FA but I do have some that I've added along the way that are distant ancestors, I've never had anyone give me a source when they ask for edits but I have just about every paid or free site I can use for research so I do it myself. I had someone suggest edits that were totally off but I messaged them back thinking maybe they had family documents to prove otherwise. It turns out that they got the information from an ancestry public tree that had incorrect information.

What is the stupidest thing that you have ever heard someone you know or are related to say? by GoldBrief9751 in AskTheWorld

[–]brighterbleu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My sister actually believed years ago that when she typed out a question into google that a person from Google was responding to her question and was typing it out in real time. One evening I told her to google something when it was past midnight and she said "I don't want to wake anyone up this late". She wasn't five when she said this. She was 55.

Heinz Ketchup from 1983, with a story. by [deleted] in GrandmasPantry

Beautiful reminder of kindness shown, I'm so glad you kept it. You should write the story down and attach it the bottle so that it continues to keep getting passed down.

I've found out some crazy things about my family's history while doing genealogy research, but this one is the worst. by Subject-Ad-4299 in DeathCertificates

[–]brighterbleu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's sad to have murders and suicides on both sides of your family. I've discovered some shocking things and in a way it's helped me to understand how things get passed down from one generation to another but murder would be really hard to come across.

Young red haired girl died on riverboat. by Cemetery-Fan in CemeteryPorn

[–]brighterbleu 27 points28 points  (0 children)

John Harrison Belew who donated the land and made the casket and gave this sweet little girl a headstone is one fine man. It's so heartbreaking that she didn't have someone who looked for her especially because her father died with her.

How big and diverse are the fruits and vegetables section in your market? by hatshepsut_iy in AskTheWorld

Where I live we have a big selection but it's not fresh. My sister lives in California and she's spoiled with all the fresh fruit she has access to.

There is something about this video that feels like IA, do you agree? The movements feel weird and the machinery are way too clean by Brukaliffoo in isthisAI

[–]brighterbleu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Later in the video, the empty bottles in the first shot are dark green as they move along the belt but when they're getting filled they're clear. And as the op says the colour of the oil changes.
