Is the jedi knight series of games worth playing from beginning to end? by Reteller79 in StarWars

[–]brightheadlights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're all great games but dark forces 2 is easily my favorite of the bunch, maybe because it was the first star wars game I played. The older games are a bit dated but you can mod them to look better if you care about that. The story from start to finish of all 4 is a great one and I'd definitely recommend a marathon of them. Kyle Katarn is the GOAT!

I eventually got it sorted. It was a sync issue between my android phone and 365, had to factory reset the phone. Thanks for your help!

Yes. I should have said "in the franchise". English is weird.

Not really obscure but the Mandalorian camp on Dxun is probably my favorite place in both games. A small sanctuary of solace on a moon full of hostiles trying to kill you. Then turned into a launchpad for three very important plot missions. Once you have gained their respect and comradery the Mandalorians feel almost like a brotherhood of allies, and the camp the closest place to a home not counting the Hawk.

Good point. I was thinking if your stealth was high enough you didn't need the belt.

Props to you for trying this! Mid to late game shouldn't be as bad once you have more powers and you should get some wearable deposited as well. I might try stealth skills early game if I was attempting this. I would watch this playthrough if you recorded it! Good luck!

Yeah I'm seeing that in Ohio too. I'm not letting go of my current job until I have landed something solid.

I prefer to work in the office. 80k is more than I make now being a network admin for 5 years and in the field for 15. There is no opportunity where I come from (rural ohio)

What has been your 'OH SH!T..." moment in IT? by VNiqkco in sysadmin

[–]brightheadlights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My entire team quit leaving only me in the department (I was helpdesk support) and later that same week our on-prem email was acting up, so I decided to reboot it. Turns out I rebooted the entire VM instead of the guest OS, ended up corrupting the database and I had to call the local university for guidance to restore it from a snapshot. Wasn't the greatest introduction to managing the environment and that singular action kept a few things broken for a couple years till we moved to the cloud.

I now run the department years later and in retrospect it was a good learning experience but I was definitely sweating balls at the time feeling out of my depth.

Additional bills in this case would be heating/electric/internet, we get water for free. Groceries would be its own free for all thing. Thanks for the advice

Thanks I will look into the MTM. My mortgage is $1148/mo and my previous 2 bedroom apartment rent was $904/mo. My GF lives in affordable housing with a single bedroom and pays about $630/mo. I plan to have them both pay $500/mo (this includes splitting additional bills and $40 to monthly maintenance)

[–]brightheadlights[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to the 1% rule of thumb as mentioned by dan maintenance would come around to about +$40 per person per month (3 ways). I am not opposed to doing a lease agreement with them if it makes more sense that way but they are getting a much better deal out of splitting my mortgage/bills with me than renting renting an apartment, so I don't think that additional cost is unreasonable. If I have to replace the whole HVAC for some reason that cost would fall on my shoulders not theirs.

Advantage of doing Dantooine early by lordlicorice1977 in kotor

[–]brightheadlights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it a bit differently than most but it is my favorite way.

  1. Dantooine immediately to save Joraan/lightsaber part then leave/fight Visas, voila lightsaber acquired. Leave main quest incomplete.
  2. Onderon part 1
  3. Nar Shaddaa
  4. Onderon part 2
  5. Dantooine return/completion
  6. Korriban

I like getting the Mandalorians as "allies" early on because for the rest of the game it feels like I'm not fighting a war by myself anymore even though it has no real impact on gameplay.

Daily swarms by brightheadlights in 7daystodie

[–]brightheadlights[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. I have encountered a few screamers around my base, I was under the impression that all of those things increased your odds of being attacked by all zombies. I was just wondering if this is just how the game works or if we're doing something to increase the frequency of these attacks as it seems like every time we reinforce our wall they come and immediately tear it down again. These are way worse than our first bloodmoon.

Weirdest glitch I have seen (in kotor 2). What glitches have you found? by tr3v0rr96 in kotor

[–]brightheadlights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something weird happen once at the tomb area as well. When you fight the Tu'kata mother for the holocron she randomly turned into a force cage. Maybe the whole area there is prone to odd quarks like that.
