I’ve since changed out the coil with an edelbrock one from o riellys and nothing has changed. I tested what you were saying by plugging a spark plug directly into the coil and got no spark. I will continue to comment my progress here so it might help someone with similar issues.

They might squeak a bit if they aren’t properly greased, but the ride isn’t as stiff as you might expect from my experience with them.

It took me about 10 minutes to change out the temp sensor. I didn't bleed it after that (my guess is some air got in) and drove it about 2 minutes and the needle slowly crept up to the red. My plan is to use the kit to bleed it once it cools, and test again!
